Since I am exploring the world of essential oils and wanting to try my hand at mixing oils for various uses around the house, I wanted to find a company that offered spray mist bottles at a competitive price. When shipped, this company wrapped the bottle in bubble wrap and enclosed it in an appropriately sized sturdy box. This prevented any possible damage that could have happened during shipment.
As you can see, this bottle is a round 4 oz. cobalt blue colored bottle. The cobalt blue and the amber color bottles help protect the contents from harmful UV rays (my number one priority). Included with this bottle is a white polypropylene smooth fine mist sprayer with a topped clear styrene protective hood. The superfine mist is perfect for the distribution of most all products one can mix with essential oils.
As with most misting sprayers (including cleaning products purchased at any retail store), I am assuming this sprayer will eventually become clogged due to the buildup of the oil residue. This does not concern me; because I have learned how to remedy the problem should it ever occur. All you have to do is draw some warm soapy water and place the mister with the tube still attached in the warm soapy solution, let it soak for approximately 5 minutes, then lift the head of the mister leaving the tube in the soapy water, and pump the sprayer. If it’s still clogged, let it set for 5 more minutes and repeat. Continue doing this until the water begins to spray through (make sure the water stays warm). It doesn’t have to be a strong mist, just enough to begin to unclog the mister. Allow to sit for another 5 minutes and spray again. Continue doing this until it becomes clog free. Make sure the water stays warm as this helps in softening the oils and will disburse the oil into the water leaving the mister clean. After clearing the clog, thoroughly rinse the mister attachment in clean water by inserting the tube in clean water and pumping several times until you feel that you have rinsed it well. Then raise the tube out of the water and spray until all the water is gone. Dry the misting attachment thoroughly and recap your bottle with it; and you’re done.
When using the bottle, simply fill the bottle with desired contents. Wipe the threads of the bottle and spray top with a clean top to ensure the threads are dry and free from any liquid or dust. Then screw the sprayer/mister top securely onto the bottle.
I think this size sprayer bottle will be great to use for perfumes, air fresheners, body mists; etc. It holds 4 oz. of liquid (approximately 120 ml; ½ C)
