Great for Video Editing But Difficult To Customize
The good news is that Loupedeck CT comes with lots of pre-installed shortcuts to help get you going in Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Premiere, etc. You may not even need to construct any of your own if what Loupedeck gives you is sufficient. That probably won't work for most people, however, including me, so I will need to brave the learning curve and create some. I found that the tutorials available on Youtube to be completely insufficient as most seem to expect you already have a pretty good knowledge of how to do that. But that's not Loupedeck's fault and they do have some tutorials of their own that can help.Loupedeck CT's construction seems to be adequate if not a bit plasticky. Only time will tel if it holds up under heavy usage but I'm willing to give it a shot because of the potential of this device to make video editing a much more enjoyable experience.

Ive been working as a video editor professionally for 20 years. this hardware makes life easier. it takes a day to get it programmed and then after that its a breeze. i recommend it for editors who need to find a piece of hardware that helps workflow and cuts down on hand/wrist wear/tear.

I need to logout or sometime restart machine because device driver does not work properly and device goes blank. Only reboot or logoff (sometimes logoff is not enough) fix the issue.

With all that it is still a great product. instead of remembering how to compile stuff with a long command line you can just remember in a button. works great with VNC so also under linux (through vnc) you can use it.

Beside looking cool with all the shiny illuminated buttons and controls, the device has a lot to offer:

Pros:
- Beside the presets for several creativity tools I have - which come out of the box - I have also found some more profiles from other companies in the web (e.g. on1 - limited, but something is there) which is awesome.
- With 6 programmable & rotatable knobs and a jog shuttle like controller +12 programmable buttons and so on really nice to adjus to your own liking!
- With the nice task assignment functionality I was able to even use the device for other use cases (e.g. programming tools, app launcher, etc.)
- Adding it behind a KVM let you share easily the device with multiple computers and each computer can have its own set of settings!
- Uses USB-C - nice!

Downs:
- Not cheap!
- Do not expect to get support for Lightroom 6 or before - or any non CC Adobe products. That would be really awesome - but those versions are apparently not supported (anymore). Makes you really wonder.
- The support for Capture one is in there - and it is claimed that e.g. version 20 would be supported, but many functions do not work for the old version (even on the first screen). If you want to have nice display buttons and more controls you can buy the presets from another company for 35$. It's not that I do not want to earn more folks some money - but if you pay more than 500$'s you would guess that this is somehow included?
- I couldn't see problems reported by other testers - however - I can see that with a lower viewing angle on the display in front of the monitor, the LCD display has a shimmering effect like oil in the water (rainbow pattern - starting with <60 degrees angle which is really a lot narrower than you would think). Not necessarily a showstopper but it is clearly annoying.
- When adding app shortcuts (under "Run") you should not use quotes around the file names (like when copying them from Windows shortcuts) as these quotes will make the extcutable path unusable. So remove.

Comments:
- I did test on Windows so far, not on Mac yet. Only saw that the device didn't came on when it was connected over the lightning cable behind a KVM. But I didn't install the SW there yet.
- Plan to watch some of the training videos (~20 minutes total) and it will help you to safe a lot of time later on as some things are not as obvious from the getgo but are getting really good to understand once you have heard the explanation.
- Once you have set it up you can save your profile. You can then apply the same profile to another computer, correct the paths if neccessary and you are done!

General verdict:

The device is really useful and helped me to optimize my workflow for many things - and it is also a great eye catcher for sure.
Plan to take some time to get into the device and all the controls to learn how it is getting used! E.g. I did not realize first that you can use a swipe on the display to advance to the next page.
And - of course: It is quite a lot of money.

A great adjunct to the creative process and workflow...........once you get it set up. This is both it's greatest weakness and greatest strength. It takes time. Lots of time. Endless-options-customization-overload-explosion! I love the freedom to customize and personalize to my workflow and preferences. They do attempt to temper this with suggestions and pre-templated layouts. But I like to make it just so - personalized and customized with my own icons and my own layouts. Once you have it up and going, it can be a real-timesaver, especially with multi-step processes and batch processing. The supporting software is also really good. The light at the end of the tunnel is worth it.

I saw a demonstration of this tool being used in Adobe Premiere to make changing effect settings quicker and more intuitive. It really excels at that one function. But other than that it sits on my desk unused. It gave me a few ideas that were better executed on my custom macro keyboard. It looks cool and it's nice that it makes effect controls way better, but I'd go with the smaller, cheaper models if I had to do it over again. I much prefer my X-Keys with jog shuttle. With that I replaced my keyboard entirely for editing tasks (still need it around for typing of course) and it was half the price. If I could combine the deep integration feature of the Loupedeck with the power of my X-Keys I would be very happy.

I bough this in 2022, primarily for use with Adobe Creative Cloud programs. I'm a digital artist, and primarily use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. It had a Photoshop workspace already, and I programmed a workspace for Adobe Illustrator. Recently began learning how to digitize machine embroidery designs, and the software has excellent keyboard shortcuts, but I design on a suface studio laptop with the screen folded in drawing mode. I spent a weekend programing al the shortcuts into a new workspace profile and assigning the most used buttons, and my workflow increased dramatically. Definitely recommend it to other digitizing artists, especially since the 5.2 software update.

I'm enjoying using the product, it speeds up my workflow (assigning shortcuts to function buttons makes my work faster). the only con for this one is it's a bit laggy sometimes (adjusting brush size if wacom is plugged) and it makes my PS crash specially when I connect my Intuos PRO, speaking of intuos pro, I needed to unplug and plug it again to make it work if the loupdeck is connected, its odd that the system is not recognizing my wacom tablet when the system starts up with the loupdeck connected (I'm using windows 10 64GB RAM ,NVIDIA gaming Vcard, intel i7) and also there are times that wacom pen will not work properly, again I need to plug and unplug the tablet to make it work again. I tried not using the loupdeck for two days to troubleshoot on what is happening in my system, only to find out that the loupdeck makes my PS crashing and my Intuos PRO malfunction sometimes. I hope loupdeck fix this problem

It's not designed for Davinci Resolve, and to make it work they just layer a hack on it. As soon as Blackmagic releases a new version of Davinci Resolve with new features you will have to wait for an update to the loupedeck. I ended up returning mine and buying the Blackmagic Speed Editor.

Just buy the Speed Editor from Blackmagic!

5.0 out of 5 stars As a professional I like it!

I have owned and operated a professional photography and video studio for 15 years.

We have used sound boards designed for audio recording to perform similar functionality to the loupdeck up until a week ago.. My counsel of 8 years finally broke so I decided to try this.

We used open source programs to set up our old system. It was a lot of work. However, The result was a nearly doubling the speed of editing without a sacrifice in quality.

The reason we stayed on that platform was the programmability of each button to each of our photographers styles and workflow.

This loupdeck CT has taken all these same benefits and put them into a excellent little device. It's built well. The preset functions are intuitive. Programing is easy. Even after nearly a decade of my mustle memory being use to my old setup I have found the transition to this setup great! I'm still slower than the old one but I can tell that will change fast and it's a matter of learning a little more.

Rember when you get a device like this, it's built to perform a complex task everyone does a little differently. The learning curve will be hard. Don't get frustrated, it's like a musical instrument. At first you will be slow and it will sound horrible. But after time things will get better and once you get used to using it you will love it. Remember, your other hand hasent been doing much until you plug something like this is. You are able to move digital Lightroom sliders by hand and there are lots of them. Take your time.

Like anything that is made to perform complex tasks you won't just go at 100% out of the gate!

I go dostałem.
Rozpakowałem, podłączyłem i ….
No właśnie. Jakość wykonania samej obudowy spoko. Ogólny look świetny. Ale ten wyświetlacz to porażka po całości. Pierwszy iPhone z 2007 roku miał lepszy ekran.
No dobra, wyświetlacz to nie wszystko. Przyciski.

Kręcenie pokrętłem to jeden wielki LAG. Kręcę by przewijać timeline.
2 razy rozpakowywałem go w pudełka by jeszcze dać szansę i definitywnie spakowałem go i zwróciłem.
