Editorial Reviews

Review

"Great dialogue, perfect amount of time dedicated to details, and great teaser introductions to the other angels. I loved the world she built and can't wait to read all of the stories in the series!"

--BittenByParanormalRomance.com

"Author Rosalie Lario has masterfully built a world unlike any I've ever seen in FOR LOVE OF AN ANGEL. The first book in THE FALLEN WARRIORS series is filled with passion, excitment, danger and most importantly, love. I was entranced by FOR LOVE OF AN ANGEL from the very first page."

--Romance Junkies Reviews

"The love between Eva and Michael will be tempting enough even for Paranormal Romance fans, while the heat these two generate together will please readers who prefer steamier stories. For Love of An Angel makes for a very well done, compelling, and interesting read."

--Examiner.com

"Whoever thought that men with wings on their back couldn't be considered sexy, needs to read this story. Because, seriously, Michael could best be described with one word: "yuuuuummmmy"."

- Kick Back & Review

"Wow, is it hot in here or is it just me? This book has so much sexual tension in it you could probably build a mile wide bridge."

About the Author

Rosalie Lario double majored in Anthropology and Classics as an undergraduate student. She briefly considered becoming an archaeologist before realizing they don't actually live the life of Indiana Jones. So what was a classical geek armed with a lot of useless knowledge to do? Become a lawyer, of course!

After attending law school in Florida, she practiced real estate law for several years before finally admitting to herself that negotiating contracts wasn't nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. As an avid reader of romances, she knew that was what she wanted to write. She never imagined all the mythology she'd learned throughout her undergraduate education might actually come in handy, but it makes perfect fodder for the paranormal romance stories she now dreams up.

When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son in their home state of Florida, as well as searching out things that go bump in the night. She still hasn't found any proof of the supernatural, but she's keeping her fingers crossed. If that ever does happen, it remains to be seen whether she'll jump around in excitement, or run screaming in terror (but she's betting on the latter)!

At least that's what the humans thought.

The veil between the human world and the angel world has fallen, leaving angels stuck living on earth amongst humans. Since that time angels have become revered as gods, humans worship them. Angels rule over everything. From what job humans get, where they live, what time they stay out until and what they say. Angels control it all and the world is at peace....

Or so everyone thought. Turns out all the angels have a different plan, a plan to exterminate all humans--all angels except twelve. These twelve angels are The Fallen.

The fallen are against the extinction of humankind and have decided to go against the grain. They will do battle against their brethren to change the fate of humans. Unfortunately, the odds of success are stacked against them, their outnumbered, their strength is dwindling and they're losing their immortality. The only fighting chance they have at winning this war is to restore their strength and immortality by finding their mates. Which is easier said than done when your only potential mate is one that carries angel blood and the only other angels around want to roast you--literally.

Okay, so, I'm not big into Paranormal Romances that feature angels. Maybe it's the wings or something, but angels have always sort of been a no-no for me to read about. To me, thinking an angel is sexy is tantamount to thinking pigeons are adorable. It ain't happening....

At least it wasn't until I read For Love of an Angel. Ho-ly cow! I was wrong about angels not being sexy. Michael is an amazing character and embodies what most women want in a man--including the wings. He's caring, compassionate, fun and serious when need be.

I downloaded this book because it was free on amazon, and because I wanted a quick read to occupy my time in an hour long car ride. Big mistake.

The plot is boring and unoriginal. It is not well developed and the writing is mediocre at best. Lairo's vocabulary and sentence structures are basic and dry. All in all, it's pretty much the writing of your typical middle schooler.

The characters are even worse. Eva, the protagonist, is nothing. I wouldn't even call her a character. With no personality, no development, Lario obviously did not spend a long time thinking about her. She is a cookie cutter woman: good looking and faithful, blah blah blah. The angel Michael is no better. He's strong, handsome...and that's where it ends. Neither character has any flaws or interesting qualities about them.

Eva works as a barista and lives alone in an apartment. She's beautiful and smart, and deals with a nerdy ex boyfriend. In my opinion, Lario wrote this book in a sad fantasy of what she wished her own life would be like. When the fallen (meaning he doesn't want to kill humans like the rest of the angels) angel Michael appears in her apartment and tells her he wants to mate, Eva considers his offer and lets him stay in her apartment for a few days. Then comes the best part. Michael tells her he needs a mate because as an angel, he will die if he doesn't have sex. Yup. Nearly cried because I was laughing so hard when I read that. When Eva's ex spots the two of them together, they are forced to flee because as a fallen, Michael is an outlaw and anyone in contact with him is in danger from the angel rulers. They go to the hideout of the fallen, and after about 45 hours, Eva agrees to mate with him, and...that's the end.

I usually don't leave any reviews unless something is extremely good or extremely bad. In this case is the later.
I finished reading Angelfall from Susan Ee on my kindle, Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, Book 1), I got so hocked up with the book and the history around Angels that I wanted to read more. Unfortunately she is still writing the sequel, so I decided to fish for another Angel book and I basically checked reviews and ratings for this book and everything was good so far. 4.5 starts and excellent reviews.
What a disappointment, this book is not bad is really bad.
It's a completely and utterly waste of time.
The author expends more time describing the naked torso of the Angel and how the two main characters sexually interact than building a credible story.
From the vacuum the Angel Michael just happens to show up on Eva's window, no reason apart from the scent of her. lol. that's basically how the book starts. Even the names of the characters are corny. Eva! Michael! (probably the most famous angel and probably the only angel name the author knows).
Anyway, I rather not carry on, my advice, if you are looking a for a decent read, avoid this book.

I wanted to try something new while I was in between authors meaning waiting on new releases from my favorite authors. So I chose this one because it was a paranormal and had good reviews plus the price was decent. This was one book that didn't hook me. I could put it down for days without wanting to read it or worrying about what's going to happen next. The story line sounds good with the veil falling between the worlds of angels and humans but it fizzled. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be adding this series to my library, it just didn't keep me wanting more.
