She spent her entire childhood traveling city-to-city wearing baggy dresses and her hair in braids, handing out religious pamphlets. She is unclear how or why she ended up in the institution.
Eden's soulmate, Samuel spent his childhood loved by parents until the age of 12 when a fire disfigured his face and they couldn't look at him anymore, so he left once he was of age. One of his abilities is that he can change his face to anyone he wants with a touch. Another one of his abilities is that he can speak to Eden telepathically which he does while she is in the institute.
Eden and Samuel meet when she decides to leave the other Outsiders as she doesn't want to be a liability to them. Samuel barges into her hotel room after sensing something was wrong - Eden has lost consciousness when she gets a vision. As the hotel room she rents is a dump, Samuel takes her back to his home - while she is still unconscious - then leaves her alone to go out and find another face. When he returns Eden attacks him with a chair but then recognizes his voice.
They meet up with the others when Gabriel teleports them to New Orleans to continue their battle with Sebastian......
I actually enjoyed this story and was glad to finally read Eden's tale.
The only thing I disliked in this book was what Leonardo had to go through. I HATED that. I dislike Alexi, she is such an idiot. It was enough to make me wish he had a different mate and not want to finish the series. I just can't like her anymore. The character has been ruined for me after this book. Getting sick after Sebastian touches her should be a clue that she shouldn't let him touch her. I just can't stand her anymore. At first I felt bad for her. Now I just want her to go away and never come back. I don't know how Ms. Royce is going to make her likable after this or make it to where Leonardo can forgive her. I just don't think it will be believable. So not sure if I will read that one if she even makes one. Who knows? Maybe Leonardo has another mate out there and Alexi is demon food.
All of these books follow the lives of the nineteen children who were all born on the same day. Eighteen "Outsiders", humans who were born with special powers, who happen to be nine pairs of soul m area, and one happens to be pure evil, the demon Sebastian, who they must all eventually face if they are to ever stand a chance of winning this war. And if the demon Sebastian wins, he will destory every living thing on Earth.
All of the books so far have started when the children are about thirty years old. Each story has a primary romance about two of soul mates getting together while battling the evil. Book four starts about three months after book three "Love Beyond Loyalty" ends and the children are now thirty-one year's old.
This book is about Eden Roan and Samuel. Eden was first introduced in "Love Beyond Sanity" and she was found by Charma and Marina in a mental institution and taken home to recover. Eden's ability is that she can see into the future and is the key to destroying Sebastian.
Eden's soul mate, Samuel was loved by his parents until a fire disfigured his face. When that happen they just couldn't look at him anymore. One of his abilities is that he can change his face to look like mayo b e he touches. The ability he has is that he can speak to Eden telepathically. He doesn't want her to see his face.
And Sebastian is as evil as ever and Alexa as well. Oh my!
Why is Eden the "key" to destroying Sebastian? How is she the "key"? Will Samuel ever let Eden see him as he is or as he wants her to see him? Read this amazing book to find out what happens. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and this review is my own opinion.
