Gabby has been with the same rich loser boyfriend for 6 years, Brendon Sommers. On a plane ride home from Vegas (where he virtually ignored her to party with his friends) he refuses to help her with her suitcase in the overhead compartment.

"It's your s***. Not mine. You were the one who did all the shopping, so deal with it."

"You're an ass."

"And you're a bitch."

But across the aisle is a gorgeous gentleman who doesn't hesitate to help her. Gabby can't help but give him covert glances; he is not only beautiful but made such an impression on her. When the flight is over, he makes sure to let her pass in front of him in the aisle, but cuts off Brendon.

Gabby's troubles are just starting. She ends up getting laid off from her marketing job and her douche bag boyfriend gives her quite the shock. She makes up her mind to leave and go to Seattle where her best friend, Giana lives.

Giana is thrilled to have her stay, she was not a fan of Brendon's. But she has her own hands full; she's been seeing a married guy, Donovan, but is convinced he's going to leave his wife. Giana drags Gabby to a charity event and low and behold, the gorgeous airplane man is there. But he's not alone. Gabby has had enough of rich men thinking they can play women for fools, so when he tries to make conversation with her, she cuts him off.

"I would like to know your name?" he asked in that sexy voice that I had longed to hear again.

"It's none of your business."

A job opportunity comes her way at Young International. She's shocked during her interview when the same mysterious man turns out to be the CEO of the company and finishes interviewing her. He is charming, and sexy and quite the flirt. He hires her on the spot.

I have read and enjoyed several books by this author; this one had a different feel than the others that I have read, and it just didn't connect with me. I had a hard time embracing the main characters and their connection. I felt so bad for Gabby and the relationship she had with her 1st boyfriend, and I was cheering from the sidelines when she left him to live with her best friend in Seattle. To me, the relationship with Simon and its progression felt forced and staged. It was actually the twist that occurred at about 70% through, that I became more intrigued with the story. At this point, I found Gabby's behavior confusing and frustrating, yet I now found Simon more human and likable, it just wasn't enough to change the tide of the story for me. I intend on reading more by this author, it's just that this one is not one of my favs.

Of course another amazing book Sandi Lynn! Wow this book threw me for awhile not knowing how it was going to go. I couldn't put it down, It sucks you in page after page. I'm so sad I finished it already because i wasn't ready to be done reading this wonderful story. I really enjoyed this and recommend it to all romance readers. The thing I love the most and Sandi Lynn's books are not all mushing together like the same plot just different names like a lot of books are. Each book is it's own story and adventure so take a chance on Simon!!!!

The story kept my interest. I read it in one sitting and at no time was I bored.

I loved that Simon is an possessive protective alpha who goes after what he wants, specifically Gabby
and gets her. Some of the things to achieve his goal were out of bounds and over the top but it was
nothing that I had a problem with because his intentions were good and this is not reality but rather
romance land. The fact that he fell hard for her and stopped his manhoe behavior upon being with
her made me like him more. He was not perfect as at times he appeared to be a spoiled little
boy who throws a fit when he does not get his own way. Fortunately he evolved over the course
of the story and by the end seemed to have stopped acting that way.

I disliked that Gabby said that she was going to be strong and not be with any rich manhoes
and then easily gave herself to Simon without much of a fight. In the beginning of the relationship
I disliked how she left herself be pushed around by Simon. She allowed him to get away with
having sex with her then pushing her away when he got cold feet, on several occasions.
I liked the ending but would have preferred that the prologue be years in the future as opposed
to months. Because their relationship was at time too volatile, I would have felt better reading that
they were still happy together.

I enjoyed reading this story as I love all of Sandi Lynn's novels. There was good character development, and timeline which I believe is important to a great story. I did think that Gabby was a bit weak when it came to Simon and wish there was more of a pursuit between the two of them. I thought she gave in to him rather quickly but as it says in the book...No one says no to Simon! As for Simon, I thought he was super controlling at first and I was not sure if I could like him but he won me over!! His big heart was hiding. If you enjoyed the Forever series or Millionaires Loves series you will like this too. I would love to see a sequel to A love called Simon.
