"I highly recommend For Better or Worse. The second in a series, it can be read as a standalone, but I say start with the first because it’s just as good. They’ve got the funny bickering that I love, and even as her stories have a light touch with cute flirty, they delve deep into the characters." (Harlequin Junkie, Top Pick, on For Better or Worse)
"From This Day Forward, To Have and To Hold and For Better or Worse are all enchanting and chock full of all the witty repartee we have come to joyfully anticipate... an absolute delight." (Hypable)
"Really likable and interesting characters. Excellent pace and build. I was just so entertained while reading. Seriously excellent read! I absolutely loved every single second of this. Heather and Josh's story was really perfect to me. 5 stars all the way!" (About That Story, on For Better or Worse)
"I couldn’t get enough of this book. I read it from beginning to end without putting it down. It made me smile so much! It was everything I like in a Contemporary Romance. It was cute, light-hearted, funny and sweet. It made me so excited to read the next book in this series! For Better or Worse is a must read for Contemporary Romance lovers." (A Novel Glimpse, on For Better or Worse)
"For Better or Worse is a love story that is carefree, real and packed with emotion any reader can relate with!!! TRULY FANTASTIC!!" (Addicted to Romance, on For Better or Worse)
"I loved this book and can easily recommend you add it to your #needtoread. I am smiling like a lunatic while writing this and remembering Heather and Josh’s journey. I laughed, cheered, cried, sighed and almost swooned while reading For Better or Worse, and any book that can make me feel this wide spectrum of emotions is a book that qualifies as one of my favorite reads." (All About Romance, on For Better or Worse)
"This book was everything. It was sweet and romantic and funny and entertaining. At moments, it broke my heart and then in the next page I'd be laughing out loud. This book is exactly why I love to read so much. It gave me all the feels and was absolutely perfect."
(Smitten With Reading, on For Better or Worse)
"I’ll never get how LL can instantly captivate me from page one, but she continually does. The dance and the lead-up are the best part of her books and FOR BETTER OR WORSE has that in spades. I really honestly couldn’t put it down because the story was so well crafted, and both it and their chemistry pulled at me continuously. She writes characters that feel so real and are just incredibly likable, another thing that LL does well. It was absolutely fantastic and this series is one not to be missed." (Book Reader Chronicles, on For Better or Worse)
"A fun, enjoyable, sexy story that I refused to put down... If you enjoy romance, fun, sexy couples, friendship, family, and laugh out loud moments, then you need to be reading this series." (The Reading Cafe, on For Better or Worse)
“Layne packs as much into this sexually charged and emotionally intense novella (an introduction to her upcoming Wedding Belles series) as most authors do in a full novel…The heat between [Leah & Jason] enough to melt steel, and the emotional connection and psychological struggles will keep readers engaged.” (Publishers Weekly on From This Day Forward, Starred Review)

Finally! The story of "The couple who wasn't a couple." I have been waiting to read To Love and to Cherish for what seems like forever! Lauren Layne has been giving us small doses of Alexis Morgan, owner and founder of The Wedding Bells, since From This Day Forward and with each book I only craved more of her. From the previous books, we've learned that Logan Harris, The Wedding Belle's sexy British accountant, has been interested in Alexis for years now. Alexis, on the other hand, has never allowed her emotions to show, so I couldn't wait to get in her head and see what was really going on in there.
I can't even put into words how much I absolutely loved the way this final book started off! The prologue was a flashback to 8 years ago on the night Alexis and Logan first met. I shipped these too so hard and really wanted a happy ending for this pair. It was great to get a back story on how The Wedding Belles got started; I only wish we had gotten more of those flashbacks. Alexis was a hard puzzle to crack, but Logan has known her for years and knew that patience was key. From what I had come to know about Alexis, I agreed with the different methods he attempted to try and woo her. Pushing too hard would only push her away. It was a thin line he had to walk in order to exit the dreaded friend zone!
This entire series has been filled with yummy male leads and Logan was no exception! I am a total sucker for anything British, but Logan was just perfection! He's got the whole Clark Kent/Superman thing going for him and it was giving me life. I admired his patience, but loved his no nonsense side even more. *sigh* Lauren Layne is fantastic at describing scenes in a way that makes you feel like you are another guest at the table. It was great to catch up on the other couples we've come to love and some of my favorite scenes were those of Josh, Seth, and Logan having guy time.
I was extremely pleased with how this series turned out and I was very thankful to have found another auto-buy author! I pre-ordered To Love and to Cherish moments after finishing For Better or Worse and I look forward to doing the same with Layne's future books! If you have not read this series yet, do yourself a favor and get to it! Yummy guys, hard working ladies, amazing bonds, and loads of laughs - you truly can't ask for more!

Logan meets Alexis in a small, hole-in-the-wall bar when she was the business was still just a dream. They connect in a deep way, while sharing dinner and drinks. Logan does something unexpected. He invests in her dream, fronting her the money she needs to start making her dream a reality. Alexis can't quite believe a total stranger is doing this.
<i> "Why?" she asked, lifting his business card slightly. "Why would you offer this?"
He jerked his head in the direction of her folder. "It's a good plan. Worth the risk."
She shook her head slowly, searching his face. "No, it's something more than that. Another reason. I'd like to know what."
..."Say yes to my proposal, Alexis. Say yes, and maybe someday I'll tell you the other reason." <i>
That's probably the best meet cute EVER! And even Alexis feels the connection between this perfectly charming and BRITISH stranger.
<i> Alexis sat there for a long time after, his card in her fingers, her heart in her throat, and her life in the hands of a stranger who somehow didn't feel like a stranger at all. <i>
So we as readers realize that Logan has loved Alexis since the beginning. Since he first saw her and that's the reason he gave her the money for her dream. Unlucky for him, Alexis is still oblivious to his affections and keeps him at arms length and the "friends zone". Present day and eight years later, he still yearns after the classic brunette beauty. Logan gets a call from his dad saying he needs to come home and run the family business. But his heart twists at the thought of leaving Alexis. His father makes him a deal: he gets one month to make Alexis his or he comes home for good. Talk about a short timetable.
<i> He had responsibilities back home. A small Harris-family empire to take over, as his parents reminded him during every phone call. But he wasn't going anywhere yet. There'd be no leaving as long as she was here. Even if sometimes he wasn't all that sure she even registered his existence. <i>
Things are bad on Alexis' end too. She gets a call from her mother that her younger sister, Roxie, is getting married... to Alexis' ex boyfriend. And Roxie might be pregnant. Talk about a swift kick to the heart and ego! After finding out the heartbreaking information, the always polished and sensible woman makes a decision. She chooses to put her profile put on a dating website. This is very unlike Alexis. And when Logan hears of this news, he decides it is time to make his play for Alexis' heart.
Alexis and Logan's relationship starts changing from business partners and friends to more than that. And when their dynamic changes, they start changing too. Logan decides it's better to speak up about what you want than to sit on the sidelines. Alexis realizes that work and her company are not more important than the people in your life. The business won't make her happy in all the ways that count to achieve a happy life.
<i> "I've been nothing but happy in the eight years since..."
Since she'd met Logan in that bar. <i>
<i> Work would always be a pivotal point in her life. But it wasn't her whole life. It wasn't even the center of her life. That had always been Logan. Logan, who'd been her rock, her friend, her partner, her... love. She loved Logan. She had always loved Logan, from the very beginning. <i>
Emotions. Jealousy. Joy. Fear. Hurt. Loss. LOVE. All these emotions are felt by these two characters.
I really loved this book and it was my favorite of the series!!! I was waiting for Logan. Sweet and quiet British heroes have a soft spot in my heart.
<i> "You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say all that," he said quietly.
She laughed. "A few years, I imagine."
He pulled back and met her eyes. "Eight years, four months, and twelve days."
Alexis blinked. "What?"
"Since the very day I met you," he said, touching a finger to her lips. <i>
