CD reissue of this 1979 album from the late Jazz trumpeter. Freddie Hubbard was one of the premier trumpet players in all of Jazz. He issued a wealth of albums from the 1960s until his passing at the end of 2008. Many of his albums have made the Billboard top LP chart, a rare occasion for a Jazz artist. Wounded Bird. 2009.

Most of the album is very reflective and ethereal, but Ogerman's arrangemnts are the star here, transporting you to someplace you've not visited before if you've never heard him. Hubbard's mostly fluegelhorn solos are a perfect guide to this other world, and a perfect mesh with the arrangements.
I have been avidly, desparately looking for this recording to come out on CD forever, and now my wishes have been answered at last. This album influenced me so much musically I would just about pay any price for this pristine recording! This will be in short-list of most precious CD's I own.

I own a MINT condition LP and back in the day started it off by playing side #2 first.Al Jarreau's vocals on "Little Sunflower" with a shot of
Old Granddad 100% proof wisky was all I needed to start the weekend right.
The rest of the songs with a cast consisting of Ernie Watts,Oscar Brasher,
and others, pop out some of the best sounding jazz from the lovely "Brigitte" to the tight licks of the title track by Freddie.
This is a must have first time limited release on Cd by one of the masters
of jazz.Every track is worth listening to in this all to brief offering from one of my jazz heroes, Freddie Hubbard. R.I.P
All of the cuts on this collection are top flight music.
