I've made her Layered Bacon Dip and it was superb. Being a potato lover, I've also made her Mama's Potato Soup and it was absolutely delicious. I loved every spoonful of it and would certainly make it again. And finally, I've also made her Crab Cakes with Mustard Sauce. We also love seafood around our house so this was a no-brainer as a choice of recipe to make. It has fabulous flavor and is so yummy you'll want more after the first serving.
Maggie writes her recipes in an easy-to-understand way and they aren't complicated at all. They are easy to make and have easy to find ingredients. When you live in a small town like I do, you really appreciate that as some of the more exotic ingredients in some books are not available here.
This cookbook would get the 1st Place Blue Ribbon prize for best compilation of non-sweet recipes. The only thing lacking is desserts...and Maggie, I hope you're going to be doing desserts next. Please?

I love Maggie's cookbooks because the recipes are all authentic and unique and DELICIOUS! She writes each recipe with easy to follow directions and ingredients and marks her favorites.
We love the appetizers and make them for snacks as well as for company. Favorites are the Pineapple Salsa, deviled eggs and stuffed mushrooms. For main courses the Etouffee is delicious. We also love the Mexican Chicken Pot Pie and the Saucy Pork Chops. Really, I love every recipe I made in Maggie's earlier books.
I HIGHLY recommend this book!
The recipes themselves are amazing - From Appetizers all the way to Maindishes - all in one place!
If you love cooking and or like to try new recipes then this is the book for you!
