Ali is a free spirited young lady. We first meet her going braless and paintballing. She is hysterical. She also has problem in the form of her birth mom.
Luke just moved into town and from the greeting he got when he first arrived he never wants to leave. He found his love that first night. It was a quick love story. He is all male and he had a sense of humor which makes this story so fun to read.
It had me from the start! This love story was so good. It was short but told the story of so many others as well. It had lots of fun and sad parts as well. You could be laughing one moment and mad the next. Well written and I hope we get to see Shamus again! 5 stars.
We start by meeting Alice, who grew up in Spartan with her moms, I say moms, because these two crazy former prostitutes, Margo and Cleo rescued Alice from her real mom Viola also a prostitute who was unwilling to keep her. Margo and Cleo who dress inappropriately for their age, own the town`s bar and Alice usually works there. Until one Friday night she didn`t, and the fun began.
After making her own potent fishbowl and being way too tipsy, she ends up rolling around her garden in fairy wings boots, a motorcycle helmet and granny pants, shooting a paintball gun at cardboard cutouts she had made. She notices some movement out of the side of her eye and shoots whoever it is.
Luke her new neighbor…… her new drop dead gorgeous neighbor , sitting on her porch like he owned the place. Luke gives her the once over as she scrambles to her feet to get back in the house, and he chuckles to himself and tells her he will return in the morning to introduce himself. This he does along with bringing her coffee and a bacon wrapped doughnut and she immediately falls for him.
The antics of the two of them had me in stitches from the beginning along with the secondary characters in their lives………. Margo, Cleo, Parker, ( her gay friend) and Bruce omg Bruce all I will say about him is mankini you will know what I mean.
Suddenly the story took a sinister twist when her real mom shows up in town causing trouble, which leads to Luke and Alice having a crash, and it`s her friend Amy, a girl she has known since she was sixteen who lives in a tent in the woods that comes to the rescue.
This book is a definite read, and the author Ashley Lyn has written a fantastic, funny novel that I had to give 5 stars, my sides were splitting from start to finish , and I would gladly read more from this author in the future.
The love between Alice and Luke is instant and you can feel the support of the whole small town for each other. It sounds like such an idealistic place to live, everyone who visits feels its warmth and wants to live there. I love Amy as well as the hilarious antics of the geriatric members of town who are exhibitionists; so funny.
I really hope there are lots more additions to this communities shenanigans. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author.

This is a light hearted, quirky, crazy, and a totally beautiful story. The author has done an amazing job in writing this storyline. I am a newbie to this authors work, but my goodness, she has another firm fan. I recommend this authors work for all readers who love comedy in their books, and I cannot wait to read more from this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!
This was laugh out loud fun. Luke meets Alice (Ali) when she is having fun dressed in God knows what in her front yard and having a one person paintball fight, with a little too much to drink. Luke is her neighbor and just moved to the area so he is introducing himself.
He is a sex god, loves his family and has six older siblings...all girls. He is a 35 year old sexy, hot, alpha covered in tattoos, a web designer and has his life on track. Ali is a 25 year old adopted and has two mothers and she is an only child. She works in the bar her mother's own, has a huge heart and loves her life. He and Ali couldn’t be more different or perfect for each other. Ali has a good heart and she lives in Spartan, everyone knows everyone in Spartan. He came from Chicago and he wanted something different. Cleo and Margo love ALi and want nothing but the best for her and they think that is Luke.
The comedy in this book killed me. I have been looking forward to reading comedies, since you don’t find them often. This was light hearted and filled the slot perfectly for me. I never knew what antics were going to happen either with Ali, or her moms. Damn, even the town members get involved with the crazy. The group texting scene was great. Luke got involved int eh antics most of the time as well.
The writing was good, the pace was good, the you never know what will happen next, but count on it happening was awesome.
