About this item
- 93% Cotton/7% Elastane
- When your baby shows signs of rolling over, it’s very important for safety reasons to transition them out of being swaddled. Their hands need to be free to reposition themselves when they roll over so they can push up off the mattress.
- Most babies really love being swaddled, so transitioning them out of swaddling is usually a real challenge as it is a change to their sleep routine.
- The Patented Zip-Off wings on the Swaddle UP 50/50 Transition Bag helps make this transition gentle and uneventful. We recommend transitioning both at naps and bed time to ease baby into this new sleep routine.
- To start, simply zip off one wing and let the baby get used to having one arm out for a few nights. Once that works, remove the second wing and your baby has successfully transitioned from swaddling into a comfy wearable blanket for longer use. Twin zipper for easy diaper changes
- If your baby was not previously swaddled in an arms up position, the transition may take a little longer.
Safely Transition & Preserve Sleep
Swaddling for Sleep
Many parents choose to swaddle their babies to achieve better sleep. By using the Love To Dream Swaddle UP, you may have already established a good sleeping routine. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns swaddling must stop once your baby shows signs of rolling, regardless of the swaddling system you use.
Some babies have some startle reflex present when they start to roll over, making the transition out of swaddles especially difficult. If your baby struggles with having an arm out, try waiting until after he’s asleep to remove the wing. Repeat with the second wing as necessary.
Easy Zip-Off Wings
The Swaddle UP Transition Bag’s zip-off wings are easy to remove. Zippers also make it easy to reattach the wings if your baby is not yet ready to transition, or if you wish to remove the wings after your baby has fallen asleep.
Preserve Your Sleep
Whether your swaddle journey began with Love To Dream Swaddle UP or another swaddle system, the Swaddle UP Transition Bag lets you safely and gently transition your baby to arms-free sleeping. Removing each wing when your baby is ready reduces the disruption to your baby’s sleep routine and preserves sleep for you as well.
Transition from Swaddling to Arms-Free in Three Easy Steps with Swaddle UP Transition Bag
Step 1: Use with Both Wings
To use the Swaddle UP Transition Bag simply place your baby inside and zip up. Once her natural startle reflex has diminished, or when she shows signs of rolling, it’s time to transition to Arms-Free sleep.
Step 2: Remove One Wing
The Swaddle UP Transition Bag’s zip-off wings let your baby gradually adjust to sleeping without her arms swaddled. Zip off one wing so that one arm is free and the other remains swaddled.
Step 3: Remove Both Wings
After a few nights, remove the other wing. With both wings removed, the Swaddle UP Transition Bag converts from a snugly swaddle to a comfy wearable blanket. Congratulations! Your baby is fully transitioned and has access to his hands when he rolls over.
Easy Diaper Changes
The Swaddle UP Transition Bag’s 2-way zipper lets you open from the bottom, giving you full waist-down access without undoing the top. Easy nighttime diaper changes help you both get back to sleep more quickly.

The quality is great. Being in Texas where it can get up to 105 during the summer, we didn’t want to kill our AC having our house cooled below 75. Thankfully, the L2D doesn’t cause our son to overheat. He can wear footed pjs and night under the swaddle.
Top reviews from other countries
The materials are soft and warm, and a really useful guide of what to wear is on the back of the packaging. You put your baby's arms into the top sections which are "locked-in" and prevent them from flapping around. There is a double zip so you can check the nappy without freeing the hands. The body section is snuggly but freedom for the legs, almost like being swaddled but with some room to grow.
There is a transition period for your little one as you can zip off each hand cuff to get them ready for a sleep bag.
Since moving our little one into these, he's slept far longer than before and doesn't startle himself awake, and we've even managed to get some better sleep ourselves as parents. Just to wait for the startle (moro) reflex to go and we can get him transitioned to the next stage.
If you struggle with sleep in your household, give one of these as try. If you get a few weeks of good sleep because of it you'll consider the £30 odd a fantastic investment for your own well-being!
The transition to sleeping bag was very smooth. We did as recommended with leaving one hand out one night and the both hands out afterwards. She transitions within one day really.
My girl is 5.5 months now and we upgraded to next size up sleeping bag and use this as a spare while the main one is in washing because my little one prefers now a longer sleeping bag
Update: I accidentally noticed that on Chinese website (Aliex....ss) these are much cheaper. Yes, it will take 2-3 weeks receive, but they cost there only fraction of the price. So gutted I got it here
