I was incredibly excited when I heard about this book and just had to order it, but my hopes of a fun, witty and 'in your face' self help story quickly died down and were crushed under a giant boot of "way too much." While Loni Love does in fact deliver in the realm of witty humor (and yes I did chuckle maybe 2 times during the extent of reading this book). She does so from an incredibly biased perspective and most definitely should not be giving out any sort of advisory on love, dating, or relationships in general.
This book seemed more like a "How-To" guide on being a rude and catty and honestly provides guidelines that are on par with "The Idiot's Guide to Being A Total B*tch And Sleeping With Strangers"
The 'cringe' level with this book is off the charts.
So if you're absolutely clueless (and I mean that in the realest sense- because the most intense"AH-HA" moments in this book are outrageously obvious and made me wonder who in the world didn't know these things) and you want to sleep around with a ton of different people, hold no real reputation except for being a massive bitch, enjoy causing problems and have no intention of knowing the person you slept withs name- then sure pick up this book.
I was mortified when page after page read with stupid "Dear Annie" stories of women who are asking the most ridiculous questions that remind me of raunchy, distasteful Glee re-runs. These women seem to have just about zero morals or common sense.
This book is riddled with garbage quotations from her "Dear Loni" letters that are all along the lines of:
-"My mother and stepfather are divorced, is it okay if I date him?"
-"One has a big wallet, the other has a big rocket. Life is full of difficult choices."
-"How long before I can sleep with my ex's brother?"
And the less obnoxious questions falling between "How do I let a man know I'm only interested in no-strings attached sex?" and "How can I tell my man what I like?"
I'll save you trouble of flipping through this abomination of a published work. YOU TELL HIM. Loni Love seems to think that the best way with dealing with every situation is to instead to generalize men, use them for their money, use them for their -er goodies, and otherwise treat them in ways that you definitely wouldn't want to be treated yourself.
We're in 2016, and unless your a catty teenager with a desire to cause tons of drama, you shouldn't even bother to open this book. Honestly, I'm not even sure it would make good fire fuel with the amount of 'fake-ness' within the confines of these 244 pages.
Beyond disappointed. Apart from the maybe 2 or 3 decent sentences in this book and the "put yourself first" mentality- this book is garbage and overwhelmingly distasteful.
Try to stay classy Loni.
Never let any man make us feel that it is normal and everyone is doing makes it all right! Always remember 1+1=2 and u r #1 !!!!!!!!!
