About the Author

Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. She began writing at a young age, concentrating on plays and journalism. It wasn’t until she started writing romance that she found success. She likes to find humor in the strangest places. Lexi believes in happy endings no matter how odd the couple, threesome or foursome may seem.

My Ian Taggart love knows no bounds, and Love and Let Die only reinforced that fact.

****Here there be SPOILERS for the previous 4 books****Ian's wife, Charlotte, whom he believes to be dead, shows up at his door, and sets the big, bad Dom back on his hiney parts.********END SPOILER**********

Ian is the biggest, bawdiest, baddest Dom. He is brash, he is irreverent, he is impatient, he is abrupt, he is absolutely hilariously sarcastic...he is so afraid someone is going to see through to the soft center. He had that once, she died, it is over, in Ian's mind. He is never going to put himself in a position where he can be hurt again. Then comes the knock on the door...

Charlotte is the female, sub equivalent of Ian's Dom personality, if that makes sense. Several of the characters affectionately refer to Charlotte as "a crazy b-word", which pretty much nails it. She isn't afraid to take anyone down a peg or 7, because the only opinion she really cares about is Ian's, and her sister's. She willingly puts herself in harm's way to save other members of the team, (something Ian REALLY wants her to stop doing) and she has tried to do the right thing, to atone for how she and Ian parted 5 years ago.

Charlotte and Ian together are pure magic. I loved how Charlotte remembers the little things, like Ian's favorite donut (Lemon Crème) and how he likes his coffee (like paint thinner), and how she gets that Ian needs to be needed. She knows where she went wrong and is so determined to convince Ian her feelings for him are sincere.

Ian wants to believe Charlotte, but he is like an abused animal. He isn't going to put himself in a position to be abused again. He can't quite trust that Charlotte really wants him, this time without a hidden agenda.

Best so far! Ian is a badass Dom who has met his match in his even badder ass sub/ wife, Charlotte. Ian's 'dead' sub/wife who betrayed him has resurfaced, and his broken heart is unwilling to trust her again. I laughed out loud at some of their exchanges and cringed at others. The sexy bdsm scenes were hot. Charlie has a great kickass scene where she tossed nasty sub, Amanada, out of Sanctum. Loved the Sean and Ian reunion.

From Dallas to Russia to India, the action kept a fast pace. Russian mob ties, MI6, and Eli Nelson all add to the suspense and twists. Who to trust and who betrays kept me on the edge. I love that all the previous characters of McKay-Taggart and additions are in this book. They added to the fun and thrill ride. The budding romance between Simon and Chelsea as well as a great, unexpected teaser ending has me longing for the next book in this series. More, please!!

I EAGERLY awaited this book and it wasn't a disappointment. Big Tag was confused, conflicted and downright adorable. I LOVE LOVE LOVE inner dialog and Big Tag's inner Tag...was hot, dirty, sweet. You have to read this book!

This is an eagerly awaited book, and it did not disappoint at all. Ian is of course stubbornly annoying (as he has been since book 1), and there's just the right amount of emotion and heartbreak between him & Charlotte to make the characters real. The action is fantastic, and its great to see the continuing stories of so many of the other happy couples.
All the books in this series are really well-written and engaging, and Lexi Blake is a great author. But this book is definitely the best one so far. I loved it!

Lexi Blake weaves a great tale of espionage and sex. There is so much chemistry between Ian and Charlotte that it explodes off the pages. For those of you who have read the prior books and know who Mr. Black is , he gets in the end. You'll find love and laughter. All in all a great read.

Highly anticipated books are always hard, and this has to be the most highly anticipated book of the Masters and Mercenaries series. Ian has been a major presence in every single book since the very beginning. He is big. He is a butthead. And with every book we've found out a little bit more about him. Most recently, that he was once married, she died and OH WAIT! SHE'S NOT QUITE DEAD YET!

I was literally jumping around at the end of On Her Master's Secret Service because I was SO D$MN EXCITED when Kristen turned out to be Charlotte. Ian's long lost love and wife... although now of course he's a big butthead who insists that he no longer loves her. AS IF. But of course, he has plenty of reasons to try and protect himself emotionally - GOOD reasons - considering that she betrayed him AND has been "dead" for years now. Not only that, but Charlie's obviously the perfect woman for him because she manages to make his buttheadedness cute.

There is no other woman that could stand up to Ian, while at the same time submitting for him, while at the same time making him laugh. Yeah, they've got some seriously emotional stuff to work through - no surprises there - and Lexi Blake handles all of those emotions like a pro. We got on a realistic roller coaster of a relationship, realistic in that I can understand why both of them do what they do, every time. Thank goodness for good friends and family who help them through, because I don't think Ian or Charlotte could have made it without those awesome friends.

We get to catch up with all the characters from previous books - and omgoodness Serena cracks me up - and (better yet) get to see Amanda finally taken down! I knew from the last book that "Kristen" would never put up with that sh!
