With so many "fake" mediums and psychics out there, Elizabeth paints an honest picture of what it is like to be a successful medium on a spiritual journey in our modern world. She shares her mistakes and her triumphs along the way, which are important lessons for us all. She learns that her role is not just to provide readings to her clients, but that she must also tell them that they can find their own answers by learning to meditate. Her life's story also provides an education regarding what is involved in cleansing haunted houses and performing exorcisms. She shares her insights into life after death and reincarnation. We also learn that Elizabeth's spiritual journey involves living a frugal life, as she shares much of what she takes in with those in need. Her generosity only seemed to add to her gifts, as she also became a most trusted source for police who would often turn to her for help with their unsolved investigations. The stories she recounts are heartwarming, heartwrenching and insightful. This is a must-read for anyone wants to deepen their own connection with God.
Elizabeth's memoir is about a real American girl born in the Depression Era deep south - a "Coal Miner's Daughter" tale, if you will, that follows her metamorphosis from a small cocoon to a woman of the world in 20th Century America, and on into the post 9/11 21st Century. She actively sought and found her place in order to live out a highly challenging destiny - what she refers to as her "sacred path," rife with obstacles, pain, suffering, loss and ultimately surrendering to the paternal comfort of the Great White Light she calls her Creator. Her undying belief in the power of prayer, the endless searching through the marvels and wonders of the many faiths that inspired her, constantly striving towards the reconciliation of her physical body to her spirit body, not to mention what she calls the mainstay of her life's work: her consistent message that meditation, going within and the silence of the mind could stop all wars, heal all wounds and bring about great revelations in body, mind and spirit is more than provocative. From the back hills of Tennessee to big city Chicago to San Diego where she studied and honed her craft - to her home in Charleston, South Carolina - the stories are entrancing, enthralling and full of vim and vigor. This book will surely end up having a second volume to follow... the stories are too numerous for a single edition.
Elizabeth’s life story is inspiring. She has risen over her painful life experiences and has followed her spiritual guidance to offer her services as a medium, focused on serving people and helping them learn how to help themselves by getting their own messages though meditation, in a world full of suspiciousness, prejudice and fear. She shares her own straggles, dilemmas and mistakes and also her faith, discipline and triumphs helping any reader on a spiritual path to identify with her and find his/her own courage.
As the author says, the only thing we have to offer another is our own experience. I believe that in her own experience all spiritual seekers will find more that they seek for. On top of that, the book is very well written and you really can’t put it down!
