Ophelia is lucky enough to have a best friend and a young man that love her very much. They stick by her while she deals with the cards life had dealt her. Jude Ouvrard's writing is very lyrical and the storyline was interesting and heartbreaking. I enjoyed the story very much.
While reading, I felt that there was a lot of telling and not showing. I wanted to get into Teo and Ophelia's life more. See more of Ophelia playing the piano like she did with the neighbor girl, and bond with her best friend. The scenes we did have were amazing, and allowed me to connect so much to the journey. I honestly, really loved Teo. I wanted so much more of him.
I actually ended up reading the version from Amazon (got it while it was free), and saw that it still needed some editing.
I would definitely read more of Jude's work, she has a great style and I love the storyline. Romance, tragedy, healing, more tragedy, and healing for real. Loved it.
This is a must read!
The moment I’ve read the synopsis, I was intrigued thinking that this one is surely to be a story with heartbreaks. And well, it is!
Ophelia is a music prodigy. At a young age, she is already well known in the industry. But she will be known by others after a tragedy has struck her family. From a simple and happy life, her life takers turn for the worst. She stayed strong through all of this. She survived.
Well, there are two people who helped her move on. First is her best friend Beverly. One of the most loyal book bestfriend. She is ready to alter her life for her bestfriend. Then comes, Teo. He is the person whom Ophelia relied to the most after being transferred from home.
The story. It started in a fast-phased way which made me pause for a bit. Too fast for my own taste especially how Ophelia and Teo’s relationship started and eventually progress. It seems like one day they finally spoke to each other then they are going out. I want more!
The heartbreaking part. Ugly cry! Just when Ophelia’s life seems to be going good, another tragedy struck. :( But with this, she has finally got the chance to fully heal.
After reading the whole story, I finally understand why the story is phased on that way. It is not meant to be too long and too detailed. It is meant to be short and memorable.
To Jude, thank you for sharing Ophelia’s story. Sorry for posting this just now.
