About the Author
Chad Stone is a dating and relationships success story. After his first marriage ended in divorce, he bravely entered the world of single adulthood and vowed to learn everything he could about dating, relationships, and finding love. Mr. Stone interviewed singles of both genders to get insights about what women and men want in a love partner. He discovered that women and men want many of the same things, but women and men go about finding love in very different ways. So Chad interviewed dozens of men and women to find out what works and what doesn’t work when searching for a romantic partner. He researched online dating to learn how to write an online profile that’s guaranteed to get attention—and how to go from a “wink” to a date. As part of his research, he attended dating events including “speed dating” evenings and dating mixers. He became an expert in love. Mr. Stone’s research resulted in The Love Magnet Rules: 101 Tips for Meeting, Dating, and Keeping a New Love. In addition to this book, Chad Stone also shares dating and relationship advice and humor on his blog at www.ChadStone.us. He is a frequent dating and relationships contributor to Boomeon.com and other sites. Chad Stone lives with his wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I found this book easy to read and quite interesting. It’s a wonderful reminder of how we should treat others, especially people we want to be close to—friends, lovers, partners, and spouses. It also offers ways to be kinder to our family and coworkers, covering social do’s and don’ts along with effective social media tips. While the topics in the book are geared toward helping us to find (and keep) that special someone we can share our lives with, I also found the tips helpful for me to better myself—and utilize what used to be called “common courtesy.”
I highly recommend this book for everyone, but especially if you’re looking to find a relationship or improve the bond with your current partner.
Author Chad Stone has used his years of research, education, and dedication to compile this insightful and informative book. This is a self-help book geared mainly toward romantic relationships, The Love Magnet Rules: 101 Tips for Meeting, Dating, and Keeping a New Love offers incredibly helpful tips and ideas for helping people draw lasting and intimate love to themselves. However, though it is clearly written with love in mind, the book will prove quite beneficial to readers and will present methods and strategies that can improve and enhance all types of relationships, whether familial, social, business, and of course, romantic. Stone does a tremendous service to all readers by presenting his ideas and information in a comfortable, fun, and easy to read manner. The most positive learning we do is when we have a great time while we’re doing the learning.
I also appreciate that although the tips are mainly geared to how to make a person more desirable in finding a partner that some could also be used in maintaining the spark in a relationship. The tips I will try to apply in my own relationship are being a better listener, not taking my love for granted and incorporating a code phrase that lets my significant other know "this is important to me". The only tip that I disagreed with is using the golden rule and would replace it with the platinum -- treat someone as he/she wants to be treated. Overall, great read for anyone who has started dating again or looking for a way to rekindle the passion.
The rules that Chad Stone lay out are for people who are looking to find someone as a long term beau, not for people who are looking to love and leave. While most of the rules are common sense things, it helps to see them laid out in black and white. While most of us (or at least me) will read some of the rules and think, "well, duh...of course we should do this," there are others that I didn't think of so clearly. As a fairly newly divorcee with two daughters, seeing some guidelines for wading back into the dating pool while juggling parental responsibilities was nice.
In the end, the overall message of the book is positive, encouraging the reader in subtle (and not so subtle) ways to be more confident in themselves and to keep hopeful no matter how badly their love life is going. And really, that's a message that we could all use a little more of.
