"Marry Me, Cowboy" is the novella written by Lilian Darcy for the Copper Mountain Rodeo series. It is the second in the series. It is the story of Tegan and Jamie, both rodeo riders. Tegan is in American on a visa that is about to expire. A fellow rodeo rider, Chet, is supposed to marry Tegan to keep her from having to go back to her native Australia. Chet has a secret he doesn't want to share with her yet, and at the last minute, decides he cannot marry Tegan. So Jamie, who Tegan doesn't really care for and really doesn't get along with, offers to marry her in Chet's place. Tegan isn't sure he is really serious about the offer and she doesn't understand where a sudden physical attraction to Jamie is coming from. I like how the character's relationship develops. I like Tegan's sassy ways, and Jamie's quiet, awkward but strong influences.
"Promise Me, Cowboy" is the 3rd in the Copper Mountain Rodeo series. It is written by C.J. Carmichael. This is the story of Sage & Dawson. Sage returns to Marietta, Montana to open a chocolate shop when she stops competing as a barrel-racer and leaves the rodeo. She has a serious leg injury right after her heart is broken by Dawson. He neglected to tell her of his marriage. His "wife" shows up right after they are intimate with each other. No one in Marietta knows that she had fallen in love with Dawson, or that he was married when it happened. He comes to Marietta with his 5 year old daughter, Savannah, and becomes the new deputy. He wants to put down roots in Marietta and make things up to Sage. I like Sage's courage and willingness to try. I like Dawson's hard-working style of showing Sage how much he really does care about her.
"Take Me, Cowboy" is the fourth book in The Copper Mountain Rodeo Series. I loved this story by Jane Porter. It is the story of Jenny & Colton. Jenny was jilted at her wedding by her fiance just moments before the ceremony was supposed to begin. Colton was driving his pick-up truck down the streets of Marietta, Montana and saw a princess bride standing on the street corner. He offers to help her, but she says no, and goes on her way. Later, he comes to her aid when her ex-fiance, Charles, shows up drunk. It doesn't take long for the feelings Jenny had for Colton when they were younger to appear again. He doesn't want to hurt her, but there is a chemistry between them he can't deny.
Chelsea is fine living life in her hometown, teaching, and living up to her mother's standards. Of course, this means accepting a fate that would leave her without a man in her future.
Jasper is looking for a place to finally call home after learning money can't buy happiness, he's starting over in Montana, for now.
They're not each other's type--turns out, they're perfect for each other. From the moment they met, there's a spark, then he dares her to take a walk on the wild side and throw caution to the wind. Their whirlwind, hot, and crazy romance awakens a part in each of them they didn't know they had. Apart, they're strong individuals, together, they're a force to be reckoned with and become the talk of the town. Good and bad. They have to decide if fiery passions is all they have, or can they find love and survive the give and take of a relationship? Jasper would have to put down roots, and Chelsea must learn to be her own person.
Read it to find out if there's a "happily ever after" in Montana! This is the first in a series of books set in Montana, and it's sure to make you want to read the rest.
marry me, cowboy
Tegan and Jamie think they've hated each other for 2 years. Tegan needs to get married for a green card or go back to Australia where she thinks there's nothing waiting for her. Unfortunately, Tegan's shot with Chet is over when he stops the wedding at the altar. Later, Jamie offers, but she can't marry someone she doesn't like. She doesn't like him, right? They're so similar, running from family, wanting a future with a farm/ranch, being in the rodeo is just temporary... Secrets abound in this story, and as they slowly unravel for Tegan and Jamie, the sparks fly, emotions change, and the reality is, they love each other. And maybe, deep down, Tegan really wants to marry for love and wear a wedding dress, not just have a green card cowgirl wedding. Who knew the trick to finding love, family, and a future would be at the rodeo in Montana?
promise me, cowboy
Sage has her life in order--sisters who love her, a great chocolate shop, a curmudgeonly father--but lacks love in her life. As she rides by her dream house, her life turns upside down. Dawson, the cowboy she loved until she found out about his wife at the wrong end of gun while "caught in the act", came to town with the rodeo. He's staying! And buying the house of her dreams. She thought he'd leave with the rodeo. A life she left behind with a broken heart and an injury.
Dawson, finally ridding himself of his past, is hoping to rekindle the love of the one woman he ever regretted losing. A single father, he's leaving the rodeo circuit to start life anew as a deputy in Sage's hometown. And hoping, that maybe she'll be the one to help him start over. But, he has a lot to overcome. This time, he's making promises he intends to keep. But will Sage's heart open and learn to trust, and love him again? He'll have to show her one step at a time.
I loved the story trope and the writing. This story delivers and is a great addition to the Montana Born series set in the fictional town of Marietta, Montana that interweaves the lives of several families through the eyes of several authors.
take me, cowboy
Jenny's been dumped by her fiancée, lost her job, and just about broke, but she's not a gold-digger. She's a self-made woman who came from nothing, but has risen above and tried to do right by her family--always doing for others. Standing on the corner in her wedding gown, a cowboy stops and offers her a ride.
Colton is the bad boy cowboy Jenny always had a crush on as a young teen, growing up down the street from him. He never noticed her, and doesn't realize who the jilted bride standing on the corner is, but he can't but want to help her. Having vowed to never marry again, falling in love is not on his list of things to do while in town for the rodeo.
Jenny and Colton discover what they thought of each other in the past, and how their lives would turn out in the future is nothing like the fireworks they're experiencing, as they spend more and more time together. What started as lust after heartbreak, turned into love, but can it be the type of love that lasts? Can they find a way to make a life, and a home in the hometown both abandoned?
Take Me, Cowboy is the next installment in the Copper Mountain Rodeo series by Montana Born books. It's another winner from acclaimed author Jane Porter!
