I loved Kadin. I felt so bad for all he had gone through. London's past is equally heart breaking. I was routeing for these two to get it together and be able to have a great relationship together. There are some heavy issues brought up and this book. I liked that we got to see both characters grow.
This is definitely one you should check out.

Given the synopsis, I don't think I'm giving anything away when I say that Kadin has plans to end his life. His plans are thwarted when he finds London trapped in her car after having an accident. With a blizzard coming down, he can't just leave her there, so he offers her a room at his cabin. Neither of them are in a good place⎯he's ready to end his life and she's just had her heart broken by her long-term boyfriend and best friend⎯but they can't deny the attraction they feel for each other. So they don't, and they end up in bed together on the first night, leaving them confused about their feelings regarding what just happened. London feels cheap and Kadin feels guilty because he felt happiness for a brief period of time and wants to feel it again.
I liked both Kadin and London, but both of them have their flaws. Kadin is a nice and loyal man, but given his desire to end his life, I found him a little weak. I'm glad he changed his mind, but I'm concerned at how quickly his emotions shifted. London is a young woman who's been through a lot in the past decade and in some ways she's very strong. She hates confrontation, and while that can be a good thing in certain situations, other times it just makes her look like a coward. I guess they're perfect for each other, because both of them prefer to run away instead of dealing with their problems head on.
LOVE ME LIKE THAT is told in dual POVs and currently appears to be a stand-alone, but perhaps we'll see a story about Kadin's brother, Kegan. It deals with some heavy stuff (abuse, rape and suicide) so be warned if these are triggers for you, but it does come with a HEA. It was the perfect mix of fast and slow, which I think makes it more realistic.Read more ›
I’m a big fan of this author’s Hale series and couldn’t wait to get my greedy hands on this book! Of course, there was always the chance that it couldn’t live up to the stories which I fell so hard for and loved so much. Luckily, that couldn’t have been further from the truth!
London Sykes had been disappointed and betrayed before but she was on the run from a devastating blow like no other. When an accident forces her to be rescued by Kadin Cole she wasn’t sure if that was more hardship to bear or a light at the end of the tunnel. Kadin, on the other hand, knew London was going to mess with his carefully laid out plans. Was this bad luck or sign of good things to come?
I’m not sure even where to start! Right off the bat, London and Kadin were characters that compelled you to feel for them. Feel their pain, their loss, and their confusion about what had happened in each of their lives and what the future may hold. Even while dealing with incredible upheaval, however, life carries on and the attraction they feel for each other becomes more powerful than anything else. They are funny and sarcastic and at times angry even as the physical connection builds to an emotional one as they slowly open up and reveal their haunting memories and fears.
There are surprises and twists and turns to this starting over romance that had me turning the pages too quickly really. So many things to keep me entertained I just wanted more and more. Between the hot sexy scenes, the sarcastic humour and the emotional turmoil roiling around it all, this story had me reeled in and totally hooked. By the end, even the few things that had me thinking “seriously?” seemed to fit perfectly in the grand scheme of things.
Seductive and slightly soapy, this story is now another reason this author is on my “I must have it and read it now!” TBR list.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book by Marie James and I will be coming back for more. I honestly loved the book. The characters were spot on and had a lot of depth to them.
When you start the Love Me Like That you learn why London is running. She experiences so much grief when the book first starts out that you feel so bad for her. She was a great character and easy to fall in love with.
Kadin is also experiencing grief and when he goes to the cabin he is on a mission. I am not going to tell you what that mission is. His story is heartbreaking.
I loved both of these characters so much. They were both loving and had you captivated until the end of the book. Marie also added in a few side characters that I fell in love with. Kegan is Kadin’s brother and he brings a lot of humor that keep me laughing throughout the book.
Overall I loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone who love romance novels. Marie James is an amazing writing. She has the ability to suck you in and make you want to read more.
