Abby was they kind of character that you just want to hug and reassure, she has some amazing friends who help her but they don’t know all there is to know about Abby. Being a school teacher, Abby always has a story to tell about a student.
Cash is the kind of guy anyone would swoon over. He is the perfect match for Abby and it helps that he is hot!
I loved how real the book felt. Some people couldn’t get their heads around two people falling for each other when they hadn’t even seen each other BUT this book proves that looks aren’t everything.
After they meet, I did find the book extremely fast pasted. At times I wanted to take a breather as information was flying round left, right and centre. Some of the story seemed a little out of context, if some parts of their story would have been told sooner it would have made this book amazing but it’s all there! There was also a hell of a lot of sex going on, so much so that even I felt a little sore from it lol
The main characters, Abby and Cash, had been broken down in the past (more Abby than Cash) making them jaded and unsure of anyone. A game freed them from their prisons long before they realized it. Though this book was a slow starter, I stuck with it and I'm truly glad I did. Cash, though he doubted love at first because of his past, fights and fights hard for the love he knows that has been building over the course of talking to Abby online. It wasn't until they met face to face that he knew just how bad he had it for her. Abby has so many hurdles to jump and walls to climb (or knock down) that I honestly wondered if she'd ever overcome it. There were points I wanted to smack her for not thinking, for rushing judgement, or just plain shutting down and running away. However, as more and more of her past is relieved. I could relate to some of her reactions to certain situations.
Cash lived his life through others and just took what was given to him. Until he met Abby on World of Warcraft. Abby ignored the world, hid in her room, and only trusted two people. That was until she met Cash.
Their journey to their HEA was a rocky one, but they build a foundation in which to build on. They prove their love for each other over and over again. Cash decided when he first saw her, that he was never letting her go. Abby, though she wanted him and only cared for him, had a lot more to work through and get past to see that forever really was in the cards for her.
Story line was engaging.Read more ›
I really enjoyed this book it was fast flowing and I had finished it in just a few hours it hooked me straight away. The characters were easy to relate too and and your heart will just break for Abby.
Abby definitely didn't have it easy growing up suffering abuse at the hands of her father and throughout it all she kept it to herself, she was brought up been told she was fat, ugly and that no one would ever want to love her this had a major effect on her self-esteem. She had a close knit circle of friends and also turned to on-line gaming it was a way of making friends and she could really be herself because she would never actually meet them or would she.
Cash Hawthorn along with his sister Sally runs his family's hotel in Florida after their parents were killed in a car accident. Cash turned to the bottle as a way to cope after their death his friend Shawn got him into on-line gamig as a different way to cope.
When Abby and Cash start to become friendly through gaming and then become to know each other on a more personal level textingand calling each other are they just what each other need to help them heal and become the people they deserve to be.
Tissues will be required when reading this book and I'll definitely be looking out for more books from Jamie Russell.
Abby is a character I think every woman can relate too. I mean what woman doesn't have insecurities about weight, size and beauty. I know personally that I for one struggle with it, some days better than others. Abby has been physically and mentally abused by two people whom should love her for whom she is. Loved seeing her character come out of her shell. Love will do that to you and the support of really good friends.
Cash is kind of Jaded against love and marriage, which is hard to believe since his hotel is the hotspot . Yep, you guessed it they are the place to be for a wedding. Cash is in love with Abby a woman whom is so insecure. Can he get her out of her shell??? Oh and can't forget the sex scenes which are HAWT!!
Readers need to check this book out.
