Top customer reviews
Marci Shimoff recently endorsed a new book by Ariel & Shya Kane named How to Have A Match Made in Heaven: A Transformational Approach to Dating, Relating, and Marriage. Marci's endorsement on this book is so helpful. The Kanes' new book is the best relationship book I've ever read. Marci Shimoff definitely has her finger on the pulse of possibilities that lead to greater love.
The author, along with Carol Kline (the book is a "with" with her), interviewed over 150 of what they call "Love Luminaries," people who radiate love, many of which are famous authors, spiritual leaders, teachers, or scientists who study the neurophysiology of love. They also conducted a survey on their website about unconditional love. The conclusions are drawn from this data and include powerful points such as: "love is a practice, not something that just happens to you or that you get from other," and "Love is actually a skill we can develop." There also seems to be a "love set point" that we gravitate to until we learn to expand beyond that.
Because Marci had written a Chicken Soup for the Soul book, she also knows the power of a good story. So the book begins with a powerful story of unconditional love that a man displayed to a stranger, risking his very life to save hers. (This is sure to set the tone for the book by eliciting tears and awe as you read it.) Each chapter has a couple of stories as well to represent various points. One that I especially enjoyed was about a woman who needed a second liver transplant until she performed "inner surgery" on herself, dissolving her anger and loving herself. She became healthy then, and is vibrant and in no need of another liver 18 years later.
Part 1 lays out a new paradigm of love. Part 2 is a how-to guide. The author believes there is a "love body" just as there is a "pain body" (as Eckhard Tolle speaks about) and that each chakra is related to the love body. There is a chapter corresponding to each chakra. Each of these chapters has two keys (for example, the root chakra keys are "Get grounded" and "Sense your support"), and each key has an exercise to do. Many of these exercises come from Love Luminaries. Part 3 contains guidelines for keeping the Higher Love in your life, and includes a resource section. Each chapter has a great summary of the action steps to take.
At the end of the book are biographies of many of the Love Luminaries, quite a few of which are famous and familiar names. This is followed by an even more complete list of various Love Luminaries and their web sites. Some of the famous methods and institutes cited include EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques), Nonviolent Communication, the Heartmath Institute, the mirror technique, and more.
Cultivating unconditional love by using these techniques is sure to change your life. The author says your health and immune system will improve; if you are single, you will increase your ability to attract a loving partner; your life will flow with more creativity and effectness; and you will be a better parent, of course.
The enthralling stories narrated by the fourteen love luminaries in this book, the scientific research of the Institute of HeartMath about the significance of love for a healthy, wholesome life and many other studies the author refers to in the book, provide the reader a firm grounding to start walking on the path of love.
This book is meant to be read again and again. I was affected by it so much, when I revised my book 'Living with Saints and Sages', its
title was changed to; 'Limitless Love, Truly We are That' I have changed the title again to 'From Fear to Limitless Love, Your Path to Finding Self-Worth, Harmony and Bliss.'
Better yet, this volume gives dozens of tips, techniques, and methods to enable you to enhance the Universal, internal love energy that is the essence of who we are. These techniques are related to each chakra. Here are the names that Marci gives to each chakra - starting at the root chakra and going up to the crown chakra on the top of the head:
1. The Doorway of Safety
2. The Doorway of Vitality
3. The Doorway of Unconditional Self-Love
4. The Doorway of Openness
5. The Doorway of Communication
6. The Doorway of Vision
7. The Doorway of Oneness
The ancient Perennial Philosophy of perfect Enlightenment, of eternal Oneness with the God-Self within each of us, has made its glorious appearance again in 21st century garb. May 100,000,000 people read this book. It is one of the most profound and uplifting books I have ever read. Buy it. Read it. You will not regret it.
This is the second book in the ". . for No Reason" series by Marci Shimoff. This goes to a far deeper cosmic level than "Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out," which remains an excellent volume.
