We met Brad and Taylor in Love Surfaced, and now we get to see Brad realize his mistakes of the past and hope and pray that he can get a second chance with the love of his life. Taylor has changed quite a bit since two years ago when Brad broke her heart and isn't ready to let him back into her life, but some things are just meant to be.
Both of these two have grown a lot since they broke up, but things have definitely changed for them. Brad is in a job he dislikes, and is still upset about not making the Olympics, but none of that matters if he can get Taylor to give him a second chance. Taylor is back in her hometown, a place she swore she would never be, and is a single mother.
When Brad goes after Taylor, things don't necessarily end up how he planned, she runs over his foot and he ends up in a walking boot, so all he can do is hope that the second time he tries it will go better. Taylor hasn't stopped loving Brad, but she's scared to let him in, not just for her sake, but for her daughters as well. She can handle him breaking her heart, but to break Em's? That's out of the question
Seeing how Brad handled the news was amazing, and you could tell he isn't the same guy that ran himself into the ground two years ago. He wants to be better, and he wants Taylor and Em in his life. He knows it's going to take work to prove he's worth it, but he knows it's worth it. Watching Brad figuring out how to take care of Em was quite hilarious. I laughed out loud at the Target mishap, as well as the diaper changes. He may think he's a failure, but he really is a good person and will do anything and everything for the people he loves.
Taylor never stopped loving Brad, but she needs to know this time that he's not going to ruin everything between them. Watching them slowly start to get to know one another was beautiful, and I loved how Taylor and him seemed to pick up where they left off. They are perfect for one another. Taylor wasn't spiteful or mean to Brad (well except running over his foot), and she wanted what was best for her, him, and their daughter.
This story is a beautifully written story that pulled at my heartstrings. I was rooting for these two to make it and get their HEA that they deserved. There were a few ups and downs where I thought Brad was going to run, but in the end he proved how amazing he is and how strong his love is for his family.
This is a beautiful and amazing second chance romance, and a story of redemption. I loved Brad and Taylor's story and am so happy with how things ended for them. Love Rekindled can be read as a stand alone, but to totally understand what happened between them in the past, I suggest reading Love Surfaced (Piper and Tanner's story) first.
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: Romance, New Adult.
I love the drama that New Adult often delivers but it didn’t happen here. It was a sweet book, a gentle romance but lacked the depth I look for. It’s perfect for readers who want a light and gentle romance, a HEA without many hiccups along the way.
Brad had been a real jerk, disappointed in his career aspirations two years back he let himself drift into a downward spiral, and did something he really, really regrets now. Taylor, his girlfriend, was gutted as most of us would be, but there was nothing she could do and she left. She took with her though a huge secret, and never stopped loving him. Now he’s back and wants a second chance. I love that sort of romance, and was really looking forward to this and at first I thought it was going to go the way I love, anger, drama, lots of emotion and love.
It didn’t though, they were both so understanding, and though they had lots to work on they seemed to come together in a very short space of time. Given the seriousness of events on both sides I’d have thought they’d have been much more cautious but... there’s a few issues but they seemed to get glossed over, and sorted before they ever become a problem. There’s a couple of things I thought were going to lead to some big dramatics, to some potential breakups, or at least great arguments and hurt feelings, but they fizzled out. Its a sweet, second chance romance for those that want one without too much angst. Me, bring on the angst, there’s never too much of it as far as I’m concerned ;-)
Stars: Three, it’s a sweet, gentle, romantic read and I’m sure many readers will love it. I just needed a bit more depth and drama to the relationship

From the first chapter I'm totally team Taylor, although I don't really agree with the way she handled things.
Brad is fighting for a second chance and Taylor doesn't know how to trust him again. Nobody can change the past so she just has to decide if she is able to deal with it. And remember that when love is real, it overcomes everything.
I didn't know there was a previous book where a lot of events are fully explained. I could follow the story without any problems but maybe, not having read the previous book, is the reason why I liked the book but I didn't love it as I had expected.
I would like Sam to get his own book. At the end of the day, everyone deserves a happy ending.

It had some great romantic parts.
But Brad really grew from book 1 till book 2.
