While "A Simplified Version" doesn't have an imprimatur (the Catholic Church's "seal of approval"), Walsh can't stray very far from the Pope's own words: "A Simplified Version" basically consists of the key thoughts, in everyday language, of each paragraph in the Pope's original text.
Topics covered include the sexual urge in humans, romantic love, modesty, chastity, marriage, etc. Of particular interest to me was the analysis of the true meaning of the word "shame." It has certainly gotten a bad rap in recent years.
"Love and Responsibility: A Simplified Version" is recommended for those readers that aren't quite ready to commit to reading the Pope's original book but want to know more about his theology of the body.
