Had to be one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen, one of those movies where I’m upset that I actually wasted an hour and 45 minutes of my life, as I got no worthwhile entertainment out of it. I didn’t enjoy it one bit, while I kept waiting for the plot to redeem itself in my eyes.
The main male character is literally painful to watch. He lets the girl “slip away” so many times, because he is too busy chasing and/or having sex with every superficial, attractive female that falls into his lap. As the lover or hero of the movie, he is exceedingly lame and impotent. He lacks effort, charm and heroism in his love. He takes zero initiative in pursuing his true love for the bulk of the movie, except to use the female protagonist as a convenient diversion when he sulks in his own alternate relationship troubles. An annoyingly lame and impotent hero, for sure, that makes me grateful all men are not this poor at love and taking action in pursuing it.
The lead character Rosie deserves much, much better than this guy who has been passing her over her entire youth and young adulthood for other superficial female distractions. She is far too forgiving of this lameness, which makes her seem a desperate and pathetic victim, subjecting her hopes to the lame fellow’s whims and inaction.
