From the Back Cover
Thanks to the digital world we live in, it’s never been easier to go on a date. However, it’s never been harder to find real love. This book will change that.
Love Rules asks women to radically reassess the way they think about their romantic lives. In these pages, leading media exec and former editor in chief of Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire Joanna Coles provides a series of fifteen simple “love hacks,” dispensed throughout four accessible sections and informed by concrete examples from both experts and real women. Fierce, smart, and, above all, effective, this is the modern woman’s guide to love.

I'm a sex and relationship therapist and author of a book on how to keep erotic love alive with a long-term domestic partner. But when I speak with women, by far the most common challenge they describe is finding that partner in the first place -- someone with whom to create a home, experience the quiet reassurances of committed love, and perhaps share the joys and burdens of raising children.
Coles' years in publishing have made her an adept listener to these concerns. What's more, she's assembled an impressive panel of individuals with particular expertise in specialized questions that naturally arise -- like how to choose a dating app, how to tell when someone you're dating might have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and how to ensure your physical safety when you're out with someone you've just met.
The book's central organizing theme is that the wisdom required to find a good partner in these challenging times is the same kind of wisdom you'd need in deciding what's healthy to eat. It's a clever metaphor, since both eating and dating involve balancing short-term and long-range goals.
Given that most self-help these days is preoccupied with achieving immediate pleasure, it's refreshing to see someone advocating for more balance. Coles writes from the heart, and she has a keen sense of what's useful and what's not. Her advice, for anyone looking for looking for love in the digital age, is well worth heeding.

Seems to be written for those who have no problems attracting matches on dating apps/sites and organising dates. Those struggling to navigate the masses of couples looking for a third, people on dating sites/apps just looking for friends or the ‘matches’ that won’t even engage in a conversation, you’ll find no help here.
