Review

This short book wonderfully takes the reader into a world of companionship among our fastest-growing segment of America: those over 65. Every day since Jan 1, 2011, 10,000 baby boomers are reaching golden pond and at 65 they all strive to be active and functional. By delving into what drives people together in relationships, Regina has succeeded in opening our minds and hearts to the needs of older adults to have friendships that have meaning. Older adults need not be remarried to have love and intimacy but rather they need to bond in their zest for life and share their deepest thoughts. Love & Successful Aging When You're 70+ and Single has achieved its goal of educating society what the norm should be for older individuals: to nurture and develop meaningful relationships with each other. By doing so this book has awakened the public never to judge how and where their older relatives and friends should live but rather open their eyes to the beauty and importance we all must place on meaningful relationships at ANY AGE. --Joel S. Ross, M.D., Pres./Founder/CEO Memory Enhancement Center of America, Inc.

Love & Successful Aging When You're 70+ and Single is a welcome antidote to our youth-based culture's attitude toward aging. Older people are too often stereotyped as over the hill, irrelevant, and, to some extent, invisible. The older folks in Regina's book shine from the pages as real, live human beingswith complex emotions, thoughts, and capabilities, including a desire for love and romance. --Carol H. Behrman, Educator, Lecturer, Author of Writing Skills Problem Solver, Andrew Jackson, The Indian Wars, and Freedom Passage

Regina has written a thoughtful book that will make those over 70 feel they are not alone in their desire for companionship and love. --Alexis Abramson, Ph.D., Gerontologist, The Caregiver's Survival Handbook

Autumn is a lovely time of the year. And, as Reginsa Dreyer Thomas explains in her new book, the autumn of one's life can also be a lovely time. This slim volume explains how senior citizens can be open, reach out to others and enjoy their lives, without the need to be married. Interesting--often touching--anecdotes and valuable advice!

Well written and easy to read, "Love & Successful Aging When You're 70+ and Single" is a thought provoking and eye-opening account of romance among the senior crowd. It's also a how-to or, more precisely, a where-to manual, addressing, among other questions, the most pivotal: where do I meet my special someone? There's a particularly intersting section detailing the experiences of mature adults as they navigate the quirky world of online dating.Peppered with lots of lively anecdotes, "Love & Successful Aging" is an informative and entertaining read that should have resonance for anyone, regardless of age.

For those who are 70+ and single, or know someone who is, this is a wonderful guide to own, or give as a gift. Through her own experience, and that of others, Regina Dreyer tells us how love can be found at any age. In one easy read, she answers the why, when, where, and how new love and companionship can be found at this time in a person's life. With an increasing number of single seniors, she gives great advice on how to meet others also looking for companionship. The anecdotal stories should be an inspiration for those who have "given up" on love in the autumn of their lives. A great gift too!
