We met Natalie and Asher aka Ghost in Friend Zone, they had a hot night together in the club and have been trying to avoid each other since. Being that they are from a close knit of friends it makes it hard for all of them.
After Tina moved in with Nik, Natalie moves into a new place of her own. Happy to be in her new place with better security after a long day of moving she is ready for a good night's sleep, sleep is one thing she loves. That is until her noisy next door neighbour wakes her up more than once. Peeved she decides to give her neighbour a mouthful she discovers her new neighbour is the man she's been trying to avoid, Ghost.
Ghost is shocked to see a half asleep Natalie standing at his door in the early hours of the morning. The girl he can't seem to get out of his head after one steamy encounter. For the sake of their friends and being neighbours they decide to try being friends.
The more time they spend together the more Nat gets to know Asher, he slowly starts to open up to her. The chemistry and sexual attraction they share is getting stronger the more time they spend with each other. They might be friends but friends with benefits is a much better idea.
The sex between Nat and Asher is amazing but the connection they have and are building will give you ALL THE FEELS. Their new friendship starts to get complicated when they too start getting the feels.
Asher is a broken man with a traumatic past, his past was hard to read and broke my heart. If it wasn't for Nik and his family God knows where he would be. Asher doesn't know how to receive or give love, so the feelings he has for Nat are new and scare the hell out of him. He knows Nat is special and she is someone he wants and never wants to lose, he just doesn't know how to keep it.
With two hot headed personalities trying to make a relationship work, they really have to fight and it's not an easy journey. To make things a little easier they keep their relationship a secret from their friends. Asher has a longer road ahead of him, learning how to accept love, after everything he's been through. Nat doesn't give up she knows Asher is it for her, she loves him. He just needs to learn to accept it and try and love her back.
I absolutely loved everything about this book. Nat has a tough exterior but underneath is a beautiful sweet and caring person, you really get to see another side to her. Asher, oh Asher, wow he just made me want to climb in and hug the crap out of him. Asher was so much more than I ever expected.
Ash and Nat's story is so sweet! It's funny and steamy and at times so sad. You can't help but root for them as a couple. Some of the aspects of the story, like Ash's childhood are so sad, I found myself cringing at some of the brutality he experienced as a child. There is also a tragedy that they experienced as a couple near the end of the book that I could definitely relate to since I've undergone similar experiences and the author did an excellent job depicting what couple's experience with the loss of a child.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series, I hope all the sisters get their own book because they are hilarious!!!! I also really liked the relationships amongst the friends. Great read!
But it seems that not much more happened between them. Asher went back to his manwhorish ways and Nat decided it is time to get over what happened and put aside the many other things that make her the reserved person that she is. First things first, after months of avoiding Asher, she decides to move into a new apartment complex… without knowing that Asher is the guy next door and that he – just as much as Nat – never got over that one night in the office. However, will the two of them overcome their pride?
The reason why I loved this book was because it was just as hilarious as the first book in the series, and the characters are still as loveable. The whole hate turns to love thing is a difficult one to get right, but Belle Aurora definitely got it right: through the jealousy, the pranks and crazy things that happen, Nat and Asher give in to their attraction, and to really steamy sexy times. I just loved how this worked out.
It also didn’t stop there, because the book revolved around deeper issues such as Asher’s past and inability to have a real relationship, and around other important issues that come across Nat’s path. This made the book whole and meaningful, despite the lightly cheesy happy ending.
And to round Asher and Nat’s story up, every character present in their group of friend was again absolutely loveable (even if less present in this book than they were in the last) and gave a great final touch to the book.
Funny, loveable, enjoyable – what more can you expect from a book? I will be waiting to read the next one in the series, hoping that Ceecee’s father Max will find his HEA too.
