"Edited and organized by Uvi Poznansky LOVE IN TIMES OF WAR offers stories by twelve outstanding women authors, authors who are in the front lines of sensitive Romance novels.." - Grady Harp, Hall of Fame Reviewer
"This anthology consists of twelve wonderful stories with the inherent theme of love and war contained in them." - Off Grid...And Loveing It, Top 500 Reviewer
"Tales of war told with heart; recollections, and reminiscences, stories of sacrifice and love, bravery and loss as only these award-winning authors can tell them. A must read."- Cary Allan Stone, Author
This anthology consists of twelve wonderful stories with the inherent theme of love and war contained in them. Out of the twelve authors, Uvi Poznansky is the only one that I was familiar with previously. So, in addition to becoming acquainted with new authors in this set, my 'to be read' pile has grown considerably. That is not a bad thing with the wind chill of a minus 10 as I write this review!!
As is customary in my reviews of an anthology on Amazon, I will list the title of the book followed by my star rating. And, in this case all of these books have been reviewed on Amazon so will also include the date of my review.

Found this to be an excellent compilation of novels with the emphasis on both love and war. And, all of these books I found to be well written and held my interest.
After reading samples of each story in “Book Bites” I could hardly wait to get to the full version, and let me tell you, spending several days of a holiday season fully immersed in a beautiful world created by so many talented authors was pure joy. My favorite genre is historical fiction, so this set of novels certainly hit home. Each novel is set during a different time period, but no matter what the circumstances are, each novel deals with the eternal topics of love, forgiveness, humanity and many more. Even though I loved every single novel in the set, I would like to single out my favorite one, “Genteel Secrets” written by one of my favorite authors, S.R. Mallery. “Genteel Secrets” is not just a love story, even though the romance between the two main characters was one of the things that I enjoyed immensely in this novel, but it’s a meticulously researched historical fiction, which deals with the espionage, questioning of the moral right of one ethnic group owning another, polar views of life by the Confederate South and the progressive North and many more important issues. I really enjoyed the setting of the novel, which reminded me of “Gone with the Wind” a lot; and just like in this well-known classic our main character, Hannah, is a spirited, fearless girl who is ready to fight for what she feels is right, despite the protests of her family members and general opinion of the southern society of that time. I absolutely loved how well-read she was and how much interest she showed in politics and current events, even though her outspokenness, both in words and deeds, was something that was frowned upon by society. And when she got involved with something much more dangerous than expressing unpopular views, I couldn’t turn pages fast enough to find out how hers and James’s, her beau’s, story would end. I highly recommend the whole set for all fans of historical fiction genre! Each novel will touch your heart and will stay with you for a long time. Five very well deserved stars!
