Times Square by Jana Aston
I am a huge fan of Jana's ability to write romance that's funny but still meaningful. This story was just perfect. It had everything I want in a rom com - witty dialogue, funny but strong lead female (Lauren), believable sexual chemistry, hot but slightly quirky male lead (Max) and a HEA. This story had the added bonus of featuring a book club with wine, held in my dream funky bookshop. Just perfect.
St George's Station by Ainsley Booth
Ok so I already knew and liked Toby and Ben from Ainsley's other story Personal Delivery (which I also loved). This story just cemented that. Toby and Cara have grown up together and she's always been his best friend's little sister - until she's not. Seriously cute love story with the perfect dash of hotness - steaming hot phone sex anyone.... A guy who loves a girl for just who she is. Yes please.
Hammersmith and City Line by Kitty French
This was my first read from this author and definitely won't be my last. I don't even know where to begin with this one. It was fantastic. I adored Connie from the first page and Ryan.... Well Ryan was just yum! Seriously funny dialogue, out of control Hotness and a super sweet ending. What's not to love.
The Loop by BJ Harvey
This one is a sweet second chance romance. Funny, kind heroine runs into the love of her life on her way to marry another man. Add in a witty gay best friend, a seriously ugly cat and some steaming hot chemistry and you've got a great read.
Capitol South by Raine Miller
Another new to me author to me. This one got me thinking about what love means? What family means? And how expectations shape us whether we want them to or not. A short, sweet read about finding a love that was always right in front of you.
Wall Street Station by Liv Morris
This last story in the Anthology is very different to all the others. It's definitely not a light hearted read but it's still a love story. Seth and Sera's story has some darkness and angst but you still end up with a HEA. Great read.
What could possibly happen when six authors are provided the exact same blurb and each writes her own take on it? It turns out you get six uniquely diverging tales with only the cores of their stories bearing similarity. There are old flames, new flames, and simmering embers of lust. The creativity of these authors is phenomenal! Some weave motivational slogans into the story lines, while others incorporate humor, naivety, embarrassment, pride and struggle into the mix. It’s what you get when creativity is set free. Oh, there is one more huge similarity… the heroine in each story is wearing a wedding dress… on the subway! It’s a good day for a hot mess. Someone, embroider that on a pillow! Oh, yeah, and there’s also a whole lot of sexual tension… and release. Hot damn!
I’m terribly fond of Ainsley Booth’s stories and consistently follow her, which I why I initially placed my pre-sale order for this anthology. Ainsley’s “St. George’s Station,” also known as “Personal Escort; A Billionaire Secrets Story,” is the follow-up to “Personal Delivery” (which was also a fun, yummy romp), and where we were introduced to billionaire tech company owner and globe trotter Toby Hunt and grad student Cara Russo’s characters. The back story is that of an overpowering and demanding matriarch pulling the strings of her grandchildren, coupled with a “special” relationship between the heroine’s brother’s best friend and herself. I have many favorite scenes, but the best one is where Toby and Cara start out texting and end up live streaming, where he unexpectedly gets to watch through the crack of a slightly ajar bedroom door and see her pulling down the zipper of her “pretend” wedding dress. Love, love, love the unexpectedness of that very low tat on her back! And, who knew phone sex could be so hot? I love the way this story actually starts at the end and wraps back around to earlier and innocent days of their history, together. Super good writing! Kudos, Ainsley!
That being said, most of these authors (Jana Aston, Kitty French, B.J. Harvey, Raine Miller, and Liv Morris) were new to me, but not anymore. I’ve already begun following them on social media and will definitely purchase more works by these talented imaginative writers.
I wasn’t disappointed by Love in Transit, and neither will you be. I’d give more than five stars to “Love in Transit” if that were possible.
My favourite book was Wall Street Station by Liv Morris. Seraphina (Sera) is birn into a world of wealth and has led a sheltered life. seth is a business associate of Sera's father and has an instant connection to her.
Three years later, Sera's world has dramatically changed. Seth knows he should stay away, but finds that he can't deny what he feels any longer.
This book is so emotional. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows - there were twists and turns that I just didn't see coming.
All the books in this anthology are fabulous and I cannot recommend enough.
