I waited so long for this book to come out. I love Lisa De Jong and I loved her Rains series. That series broke my heart and I still can't bring myself to read it again.

Anywho, as I was saying, I waited a long time for this sequel and I'm happy for the HEA however I am totally bummed about my guy not getting picked hence my numerous sighs.

I loved Pierce since we first met him on the plane in book one and I still do. He is the definition of perfection. I'm so glad we got to see him for 50% of the book as it made me fall in love with him more. However, I knew everything was too good to be true. My heart broke for this guy. Nice guys always finish last!!! Poor Pierce. I need to see a HEA for him. He's totally my guy and he confirmed it with this book. He was sweet and patience and sexy and swoon worthy. I'll always be #TeamPierce. "You're my Blake".....ahhhhhh I wanted to cry at this part.

Blake Blake Blake. He is hot but he's too flaky for me. Too much drama. Plus he broke her heart in book 1. He's in and then he's out. He's hot and then he's cold. He's totally unpredictable. You just don't know how he's going to react. It really annoyed me that he wanted her then he didn't, then he does then he's not sure how he feels. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!! He's got commitment issues but he wants to come between Lila and Pierce, yet he can't give her a promise on where they stand. He infuriates me to no end. However he did win my affection at the end I guess. He came around, FINALLY! But in all honesty, if I was Lila, I would have made a different decision.

Lila - I can understand her turmoil. The heart wants what it wants.

Love Unspoken (Flawed Love #2) by Lisa De Jong
4 stars!!

“Love is complicated, and in its best form, it’s unspoken.”

I read both these books back to back and I am glad that I did, I don’t think I could have waited for Love Unspoken to be released. This is one of those stories whereby the author pulls you in to these characters lives and they just take over. For the hours that I spent devouring these two books all I could think about were Lila, Blake and Pierce.

“Wounds that deep always leave scars.”

This is another one of those books where everything is a spoiler so I can’t even really go into details either. This story continues where book one ended and Lila was alone, Blake had left and everyone else was left behind to pick up the pieces. Lila was truly distraught, having moved to Chicago to get over one heart break it was too soon to be going through another and it really took its toll.

I have to admit, at the end of book one, despite what he did, I was Team Blake; there is something about a broken man that really tugs are your heart strings. I felt his pain, I felt his anguish, I felt his guilt, I just felt everything and his poor soul just resonated deep within me. But Blake has his own demons to fight and in hind sight I could understand his reasoning, and knowing what I know now he did the right thing for him, but perhaps he could have been a bit more open in the first place.

However, with Blake out of the picture we have Pierce waiting on the periphery and he has to have been the most patient person in the world. He has given Lila time to grieve the loss of her relationship with Blake and finally months and months later he feels he can finally try his chances.

I stayed up all night reading this book. I couldn't put it down. I had to know how Lila, Blake and Pierce story was going to come to an end.
I LOVED the first book.
It was full of angst.
It was raw.
It was real.
I was so excited when this pop up on my kindle.
I finished at 2 this morning and I still feel....
I don't know how I feel.
I guess I was just wanted more and I'm left feeling unstratified.
In the first book we see the love triangle but in the end she had choose Blake over Pierce. As much as I adore Blake, I LOVED Pierce and this book just amplified my love for him.
Pierce is such a thoughtful, loving yet he's still has that Alpha male side. He is Swoon worthy.
Blake... Blake is still the somewhat the same selfish, broken person he was in the first book even though he's "Ben gone working on himself."
I don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I will leave you with that.
I know I said I was left unstratified so why did I rate 5 stars? Because regardless of the outcome it's a great story about second chance, love and most of all forgiveness. If you loved the first book I think you'll enjoy this book too.

I received this copy from the Author for an honest review. Thank you.

This two part series was good but frustrating. I'm going to review both books in this one review. This is a book about a girl, Lila, who's in love with two men at the same time: Pierce and Blake. The characters are well developed and the book keeps you on edge as you try to figure out who Lila will end up with. Pierce is suave and debonair and mature. Blake in my opinion is immature and an emotional wreck. Guess who wins out: Blake!!!

For all the reviewers who are for team Blake, my response is WHY?????!!!!! I never got why Lila was so into Blake, particularly when compared to Pierce. I almost didn't finish this book when I realized that Lila was going to choose Blake.

There were also LOTS of times when I didn't like Lila: her indecisiveness drove me crazy. I also didn't like the fact that she totally defined herself by her relationships, Blake was "it" then Pierce "completed" her, she was falling for Pierce, but no, she never really let go of Blake: she couldn't make up her mind!! I thought she should have left both of them alone and figured out who she was first before entering into a relationship with anyone.

I still gave the book 4 stars bc it's the book I loved to hate and hated to love. I'm not sure I want to read the next book in the series given the hint at the end on who Pierce ends up with. I do like this author and would read another book by her, just not this series.
