Wow! Was it ever. This book is NOT preachy, “thou-shalt-not”ish or churchy.
It IS simple, short stories. Tender, touching, unpretentious stories. Each one accompanied by a Bible passage and a relevant quote from some unknown person. Stories evoking emotions not always enjoyed, but which I choose to reflect on. Emotions where I often feel insufficient and falling short.
Like the day after Valentine’s Day story, where a 21- year old daughter conversationally tells her dad, “I love you today for who you are. You’re godly.” That won’t happen in my life.
But after the initial hurt, I realized I wasn’t feeling a failure or futile. I was feeling how much I love my daughters – and how godly THEY are.
And thanked God for today’s chat. And leading me to this book.
It is excellent and Gary is an outstanding author. Consider...Paul said,
now remains these three...but the greatest of these is LOVE. And to
know who is a disciple...you will recognize them "by their LOVE. And
finally, the Bible says "God is LOVE." What a way to develop the greatest
gift...action in 2015.
