Drew was taken by Aubrey. But at the time wasn't sure about anything. His daughter came first..when he saw Aubrey and her daughter in the park one day things changed.
Overwhelmed with joy for two little 6 year olds who will grab your heart.
Things get really interesting as Aubrey and Drew spend time together along with there kids.
What a twist at the end.
perseverance and the redemptive power of love. Each scene in this story replays like a movie enveloping you in a sense of urgency, dread and moments of breathtaking beauty and grace. The suspenseful anguish will capture your heart and soul. In this gem every forbidden kiss, every scintillating touch will take you into arms of protective wanton desire. The author created a world of intoxicating immediacy. Each moment is crafted with careful emotional consideration, bringing the audience wholly into a world they’ve either lived or heard whispers off. Cary Hart I am in awe of your creative mind. Your eloquent words was simply addictive and hypnotic. Truly Exceptional. Take a bow. Five stars guaranteed.
This story isn't about just two people, there are many. This book touches on so many things... divorce, separation, love, hate, guilt, deception, passion, family, friends are just some.
When you think you are bound to live life on auto pilot something snaps. Time to take your life in your own hands and be happy. That's what these four people thought except too many secrets, too many lies. How many people can handle heartbreak not once but twice?!?!
"Bombs are falling all around us and I’m tired of taking cover. If we want this, we have to fight for what is ours, this time around we have go to battle. Love isn’t easy...love is war.”
When I read the first few pages of this book I thought "Oh man this isn't the type of book I usually read, I am probably not going to like it", and almost stopped reading. BUT I kept reading and realized this isn't just some book about a lady empowering herself after divorce. This book is about so much more!! It's like a soap opera. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Actually by like the 2nd chapter I didn't put it down again. Some of it was slightly predictable and that's why I couldn't give it 5 stars but dang if there wasn't twists everywhere, ones that I did not even see coming. And I absolutely love Niki and Aubrey's relationship. They had me laughing so loud. And of course Andie and Reece's relationship as well. This book had a little bit of everything. And can I say I am in love with Drew. I mean when he came to rescue with the Transformers band aids, I was putty in his hands.
I think minus the little twists, this book can really be some people's real life and I enjoyed being able to relate to this story. This was very well written and I definitely want to read the next book!!
Love War begins with Aubrey Harris, who is very unhappily married. She has tried everything to get her marriage back to what it once was, however, her husband Doug doesn’t see, or doesn’t want to acknowledge that there is something wrong. After years of feeling this way, Aubrey finally files for divorce.
I found Aubrey’s feelings and actions to be so real, so true to what happens in the everyday world. Her situation is one that some women experience on a daily basis. The thoughts, the responses, everything. Cary did an absolutely fantastic job of relating that reality.
"I begged and pleaded for things to change. Nothing. The tension became unbearable. He wasn’t the same man I married and it was changing me."
Fast forward months later and the divorce is finalized. Aubrey plans to remodel and set up the B&B that was her grandmother’s dream. Aubrey has secluded herself from everyone besides her daughter and Niki, her best friend. On the first weekend that Doug has Reece, Aubrey agrees to go out with Niki. This decision changes the course of her life and brings unexpected complications.
"Bombs are falling all around us and I’m tired of taking cover. If we want this, we have to fight for what is ours, this time around we have to go to battle. Love isn’t easy…love is war."
Andrew “Drew” Williams is in the process of divorcing his cheating wife, Sarah. After he hands her the papers he needs a way to relax. He heads out with his friend, Kyle to a local hotspot. After trying and failing to relax, Drew decides to leave but not before Kyle brings his attention to the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. They share a dance and an instant connection, one Drew isn’t ready for. So, he runs. Drew can’t out run Aubrey though. It turns out his company is the one hired for the renovations at her guest house and neighboring B&B. Fate keeps throwing them together, along with their daughters, Reece and Andie. Once they realize that it isn’t a problem for the girls, they openly pursue a relationship. At least until a new revelation is revealed.
"We’ve both got the scars to prove we went through hell and back to find and keep each other, but all the imperfections are part of our story. And even though it was like our own personal war, it’s our love story all the same."
Oh, man did I feel for these two! Their journey to each other was filled roadblocks at every turn. Then add in the struggle of trying to raise a child, I honestly don’t think I would have survived with my sanity intact. The beginning didn’t have me completely invested in Aubrey...but as things progressed, as each new twist was revealed, I found myself in her corner more and more. When all is said and done, she is the only character who held true to what she was fighting for the entire time. There are a lot of bad choices and mistakes made by all, but the beautiful coexistence that happens is worth the emotional rollercoaster. Absolutely worth four fighting stars.
