I read the first book quite a long time ago. I loved it a lot though and I was really excited to hear that the second book was coming out. I got the second book…but didn’t read it. The the third one came out and I was like ok, I am definitely falling behind with all my reading.
I finally have managed to make myself read it and I am super happy I did because this book was really good. There were a few things about this book that I didn’t enjoy that much and I will talk about those first.
The first thing that really got to me was how childish Emily acted most of the time. It was like everything had to be her way and if not then she wouldn’t play anymore. I really hated how obsessed with herself she sounded and it kind of took away the appeal of her as a cute and somewhat innocent and funny character.
I also didn’t like how she always kept pushing Collin away and in the end it took just some certain events for her to finally let go of her grudge. Most times it seemed as if she enjoyed being angry and miserable because she kept making the silliest excuses. Now it could be that I am just the kind of person, who usually likes tackling things like this and working everything out as fast and as reasonably as I can.
It was a really sweet book though and I especially loved how we got to see Ava and Sebastian from a different angle. Overall I think there is just something absolutely gripping about hospital stories or I don’t know maybe it’s just me who finds them gripping.
This was a fast paced and very great book to read and I definitely recommend these books for people who need to get a break from tougher books or need to climb out of a reading slump hole.
The friendships in this book are to die for and I can only dream that I’ll one day have roommates as great as Paige, Miles and Ava and also Emily. This book was also really funny and made me laugh out loud or snicker a lot, which made the people at school and on the train look at me like I was a total nut. But hey, for the sake of reading , all the stares are worth it.
There was definitely a lot of emotion in this book as well as the first one and there is quite a lot of loss that the characters deal with. It really makes you appreciate the things and people you have in your life.
This series is actually very dear to me because ”Our Demons, Best Friends” which is the first book, was also one of the very first books I received for review. I was a part of the book tour for this series and I am super thankful for the opportunity to support Diana, who is just amazing and share her books with you all. I can only hope to maybe get my hands on the third one soon and also write a review for you on that.
Em and Collin, both medical residents, first met when Em was still in her first year residency in the hospital while Collin, that time, was her senior. What started as friendship soon became more than that as they developed feelings to each other while they hang out every day. When all of a sudden a dilemma came into Collin’s life which involved Sebastian, he left everything, including Em who felt like being jilted.
Sometimes you just need books like this– light and easy with enough cheese. You know, the kind of book that will hold your attention and make you feel captivated because of its overall cuteness.
What I loved about Love Me While I’m Gone was how it enable to make me smile most of the time. Even though the plotline of the book is a bit common and somewhat predictable, still, I enjoyed it a lot. The overall premise depicted drama, but the author made the whole story felt light and easy because of her engaging writing which was sprinkled with sense of humor and a little bit of angst.
The main characters Emily and Collin are also amazing. Emily knows exactly what she wants in her life and in spite of her mom’s advice to her to pursue a career in modelling, she took the path of medicine because it’s simply what she wants to practice. Collin also made me like his character for being so charming, sprightly, and a real gentleman.
What I also loved about this book and the entire series was how the characters basically live in the same little world and also make little cameos in each other’s books. Ava and Sebastian (main characters from the previous book), appeared here in a form of flashback and I loved it! It’s nice to look back on the sweet things that happened to my favorite characters. They were simply adorable!
All in all, this book was a beautiful companion book in this series. If you want some light romance reads where cute characters exist, you can read this book as a standalone. But I highly suggest you to read Our Demons, Best Friends as well because Ava and Sebastian’s love story is everything!
