I picked up I Love You Best because it was a free daily deal on Amazon. While I found it enjoyable, it’s not too remarkable. There’s nothing technically wrong with it, but it lacks a wow factor for me.

I Love You Best highlights different animals and what they love, whether it’s their habitat, fellow animals, foods, or more. It is definitely a shorter read, but not so short that it’s over before you’re able to get into it. Considering the content and structure, I found it to be well-done. I enjoyed the ability to have peripheral conversations about the content of this story. Since it discusses various animal homes or environments and different animal-related terms (e.g. foal, cud), it was natural to stop and ask whether my reader knew what certain words meant if she didn’t ask me herself.

The illustrations are computer animated, but bright and colorful; they strike a balance between simplicity and detail. The illustrations also feature different drawing styles, so the variety there is unusual and refreshing. Some are more detailed than others, which I think lends well to the different animals on each page.

This would be a great book for a new reader. The sentences are simple, but feature a wide enough array of words that there’s still a challenge. There is also a rhyme scheme for each set of pages, so even if you have a new reader encountering unfamiliar words, there is a good chance they can use content clues to figure out the pronunciation.

The illustrations are bright and colorful - just the way a toddler likes them. The text has a nice rhythm that children will love to hear again and again.

The author started with the known (dog and then cat) and moved to animals less common. I thought this was a great idea because children feel most comfortable with that which is familiar. Then they are ready to venture out to things that are new.

Absolutely lovely!

This is a cute book. The pictures are colorful and sweet. There is only one sentence per page which is nice for little ones who may not have as long of an attention span. On the last page of the book, the mom is holding a small child and underneath it says "And I love you best." I think reading this with more than one child by your side isn't really great because the first time I did I got asked about it by my five year old. Hence I pulled out the book "You're All My Favorites". For me, I will read this book one on one with each of my younger children but I can already tell that they wouldn't like the idea of their being one that is "best". Still, overall a cute little story.

With beautiful pictures, fun rhymes that spark questions (what is cud mom?), and a great reminder that Mom loves her child best you just can't go wrong with this book. After the first read my 3 year old was helping me read it every time afterwards. Well worth adding to your kindle library

The author's summary here on Amazon describes the the book very well. My little one enjoyed having me read it to him. We then read it, again, per his request. The rhyming is cute and the illustrations are adorable. We got hung up a little each time when reading "The cow loves her cud," as it required an explanation of what cud was. We even ended up with the discussion of what other words rhymed with "mud" besides "cud" ("The pig loves his mud. The cow loves her cud.")

The book is 14 pages long. The colorful illustrations are very well done and are of the same style/design from page to page. It was formatted perfectly on my Kindle Fire with each page filling the screen.

My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed this simple little book. It contains cute pictures and she likes to go through it and tell me what everything is. I would recommend for anyone with a toddler.

The story and rhyming is cute, but the pictures didnt really go well together and it looked a bit thrown together. Still cute for a very young child though.
