There's a guide to discussions and some emotional cues at the end for children who are a bit older than mine. We're in the middle of potty training and she had an accident overnight. She was embarrassed and emotional when we came to clean her up and we read this book again while cleaning up. It's very reinforcing that no matter what mood you or I are in, I still love you. No matter what happens, I'm proud of you. These are such important messages. I'm buying several extra copies for my pediatrician's take-a-book-leave-a-book shelves.

No matter what you love your child not just during their good times but when they are having a rough time as well. It's definitely something kids need to know.
