investigating the death of Sr. Joanna at the request of Sister Moira. Sister Moira has had recurrent dreams of Sr. Joanna and would like to have her friend's death investigated.
Sister Joanna's past is unraveled along with the past of other characters in the story. Sister Joanna's death is revealed
as a murder and the murderer is arrested.
Madeline Mann's personal life adds an interesting touch throughout the story. She has a charming personality.
In my opinion, whether you believe in spirits/ghosts or not, this is a story which will hold your interest. I rated this story

This is supposed to be a mystery and it did not work in so many ways as a mystery. I never had any interest whatsoever in the deceased. I never felt the mystery was at all compelling. I didn't care about the clues or the hunt. I read hundreds of mysteries a year, and can only remember a few that were as well written as this and that totally failed to interest me in the central thesis: the mystery. The solution wasn't totally out of left field, but was somewhat obscure.
If you want to meet interesting characters and have a pleasant afternoon's reading, you could do worse than this. If you want to read a good mystery, look elsewhere.
