Format: Audio CD
I'm new to this duo, but at 58 yrs and counting, this album takes me back to the sound of the 40's on a nostalgic and oh-so-smooth trip. That's not to say this is an old-fashioned disk; it's much smoother, less cluttered and more melodic than a lot of the older sound. It's just two guys without backup playing in a clean, little adorned style that swings, gets a little blusey now and then, and touches the very soul of classic jazz all at the same time. If acoustic guitar and mellow, non shrill clarinet with wonderful lilt are your groove, Daddy, this disk is for you. It's the start of a collection for me.

This is traditional jazz as it should be played. Both musicians are wonderful technicians, but more importantly, they are also great lovers of good traditional jazz. This CD is so smooth, so professional, so swinging, so full of wonderful melodic improvisation and just so much fun to listen to. Can you tell that I love this CD? This particular CD also has the only happy song about suicide I've ever heard. Fun to listen to, and it swings, too. A great CD
