The ONLY thing that could make it worse is the guy who stumbles on said panties is the hot guy next door. Your brothers best friend. The one who's a little lost and broken. The one you want to save, even if it's only from himself.
Miller does it again - Leo is everything a brooding, broken book boyfriend should be - smart, protective of his son, gorgeous and with a chip on his shoulder you can see from space.
Combine that with Reese - with her superhero complex of saving the day, her player brother who is oblivious to what's going on around him her crazy girlfriends who've chose to be both the devil and angel on her shoulders and were in for a sexy and fun roller coaster!
Loved this book!
Can't wait to see what Miller sends my way next, cause you know I'm one clicking that!
I'm sure this story will appeal to a lot of readers. It just didn't appeal to me. for example, the heroine works for her sister in her company. The sister wants an update on a report she was suppose to have handed in days ago. The heroine gets a little put out that the sister is so uptight with her business plan, reports, etc. and doesn't respond to her text message. Really? She is working for her but shows no responsibility toward her job. That is just immature to me. A turn-off for liking the heroine. Just my age group I am sure. so just because it is not my cup of tea doesn't mean it is a bad story or that others won't like it. I would suggest you give it a try and see what you think.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 6/10/18.
Their love story moves slowly even as their physical relationship accelerates, until the tension snaps and harsh reality makes Leo reconsider his priorities. This is the part of the book where I wanted to slap some sense into him, but the writer wisely chose other characters to point out the other sides of the issue that he wasn't considering. A near-tragedy finally leads to a beautiful HEA.
The writing in this book elevates a familiar romance to an emotionally cathartic experience. Each character is fully developed, each scene carefully crafted to make the reader feel like a part of the environment. It's an intensely captivating story right from the start. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Reese is Leo's best friends younger sister and Leo's new next door neighbor. She is co-owner of the bakery with her sister and has been unlucky in love. She has 2 best friends that try to help push her into getting out more in the dating scene.
The two meet when Leo's son shows up on Reese's back porch with her panties on his head like a mask. The chemistry is off the charts from that moment but Leo fights it because he wants to focus on his son. I laughed and got teary eyed from this book. Cassie-Ann Miller is one of my favorites! She always does an amazing job of telling the store and hooking you from the beginning.
