Product Description
Passions are aroused and old wounds reopened in this sassy post-Scream teen slasher based on the urban legend of “The Hook”.
A steamy secret tryst that was brutally cut short on Valentine’s Day an unlucky thirteen years ago comes back to haunt the teens who linger around the lovers lane where the double slaying took place. The County Sheriff Tom Anderson (Matt Riedy) has just about come to terms with the fact that it was his wife who died in another man’s car on that fateful night. His daughter Mandy (Erin J. Dean), who as a four-year-old saw her mother’s corpse carried away from the scene, has a different take on things. It doesn’t help that her classmate Michael (Riley Smith) lost his father to the same hook-handed homicidal maniac in that night’s incident. To cap it all off, as another Valentine’s Day comes round, reports come through that the man arrested as “The Hook” has just bust out of his asylum.
Prepare yourself for the ultimate hook up in a scream-a-minute rollercoaster that marked the film debut of Anna Faris (the Scary Movie series; Lost in Translation).

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2025For anyone interested, the blu-ray is still being shipped with the slipcover! This is an awesome release from Arrow. It includes a full color booklet and double sided fold out poster. The restoration was great, for what they had to work with. There are not many Slashers from this era that I hadn't seen, somehow this one flew under the radar. It's a low budget, somewhat campy film, but I really enjoyed it. It's a different take on the "Hook Hand" urban legend. Kept my attention the entire time. Would definitely recommend this release to any slasher lover or horror film collector. Great job Arrow Video!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2023I purchased this film as everyone was saying it was a good slasher flick. So as I started to watch it, the blonde girl looked very familiar...I had to look it up on IMDB and it turned out I was right! It was Anna Faris' first role.
The film is pretty good. It was about a man who went on a killing spree 13 years earlier has come back for another spree. The kids, 13 years later, are having a party and the killer is looking to pick them off one by one. One of the kids mother is a survivor of the original massacre and will protect her son from the killer at all cost.
The Blu-Ray release come with the original and alternate versions of the film. If your looking for a fun slasher flick, pick up Lover's Lane (1999).

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2025The Arrow Video Blu Ray is fantastic. It includes 2 different aspect ratios, both full screen (modern TV) and 4:3 (like your old TV). Good video and audio. When I got it, it still came with a slipcover, poster, and booklet. Reversible artwork too. Valentine’s Day and an urban legend come together for a fun slasher that hits the mark.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2024This movie is fine. It's not as good as Scream or even I Know what you did Last Summer. The biggest issue with the film is the characters. They are not very charming or likable. A few of the teens are okay but some of them are pretty obnoxious. The effects are on par with some of the tame 90's and 2000's slashers of the time. I did enjoy the ending. The movie itself is entertaining enough and I will rewatch it from time to time but if you want a really good teen slasher from this period watch Urban Legend or Scream first. The movie looks great. Sound is excellent. Arrow did a fantastic job. I didn't check out the special features but I'm sure they are wonderful as usual. I would recommend this if you enjoy teen slashers from this time period. If you are mostly an 80's slasher fan, maybe just rent it first

- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2016On Valentine's Day 1986, a couple, Dee-Dee and Jimmy are at a local lover's lane, getting it on, when they're attacked by a maniac wielding a hook. As they escape the car, they come across another couple, Harriet and Ward, who have already been slaughtered at the hands of this killer out of envy. Not long after, Sheriff Tom Anderson shows up with his young daughter, Mandy, and is shocked to discover that his adulterous wife, Harriet happened to be one of the victims. The killer, named Ray Hennessey, is caught, apprehended, and committed to a local institution for the criminally insane under the eye of Jack Grefe.
13 years later in 1999, Mandy is now a introverted bookworm of a high school student. Her classmates and peers consist of Jack's condescending daughter, Chloe; her boyfriend, Michael; cheerleader, Jannelle; Bradley; Doug; and couple Tim and Cathy. Ray is still in the institution, but murders a worker and escapes earlier that day.
