I connected with Vanessa immediately. I felt her every emotion and it shook me to my core. She is a complex character. She is strong, determined, broken, lost and slipping into the darkness that she escaped from long ago.
I fell in love with Colter from word one. There was something about him that drew me in. His intense desire to be the best he can be, not for himself but for his family. His compassion, determination and focus are just a few of the qualities that had this character taking up space in my heart.
This is so much more than a student teacher romance. It’s the story of two people whose pasts blend together in life lessons, heartache, loss and unconditional love. While the stories main focus is on the relationship of Vanessa and Colter, the author’s beautiful incorporation of their families gives a better understanding of the who, what and why. The story consumed me. I was so lost in the words, that I let the day slip by as I read nonstop.
A unique love story of one woman who teaches and one boy who tries to save her. A unique love story of one boy who falls in love and the teacher who tries to save him.
Written with such grace, tenderness and real emotion, I adored every word of Love’s Addiction.
This is my first book by these authors (I’m reviewing an ARC copy) and wow, what an introduction to their writing! A husband and wife romance writing team is as rare as a male romance author and just as intriguing. This story is a work of art. It’s one of those epic stories of deep, abiding, unconditional, sacrificial love that captures your heart and touches your soul in a truly magnificent way. It addresses the pain and devastation of addiction, not with judgement but with compassion and grace. I can’t help thinking this book has the potential to impact someone who may be struggling in a life changing way. If you’re looking for a book that will challenge your mind and fill your heart, Love’s Addiction is that book.
I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure if I would but the seriousness wasn't too overwhelming. It gave me a better look at addictions and how scary it could be. I love how these characters seem so real, he isn't the stereotypical football player and she isn't a typical writer and teacher. They each are so complex. I would definitely recommend others to read this book. I look forward to reading the other books from these authors.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
