The story is told in two volumes: The first from Kat's POV, and the second from Brooks, a Hero you won't soon forget. I found I was hooked from the very first chapter. It was well written, and I especially liked that I never felt that any part of it was rushed. I thought the story and characters were well developed.
While reading the first volume, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I felt desperate to see how everything would turn out. Although Part II is the same story, only this time told by Brooks, I was never bored with it. I found that since I already knew how it would turn out, I could savor it. I thought it was such an integral part of the story to hear, in their own words, what each of these two characters was going through during the times they were apart, as well as when they were together. (Loved that style).
IMO the two parts complement each other. There were periods of time, as well as circumstances and occurrences, that were specific to each of the volumes which added so much to the story. Love, love, loved it and I hated to see it end! Any true romantic should not miss this one.
Let me just start by saying that I absolutely fell in love with this book from start to finish. I mean, I. REALLY. REALLY. REALLY. REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK. You will experience a rollercoaster of emotions and you will definitely, mark my words, you will definitely feel them all.
I cried, laughed, got angry, annoyed and every other emotion you could think of. But I have no complaint what so every. I enjoyed experiencing the rollercoaster of emotions. I love how Jennifer Foor built a story and not just plunged to the happily ever after. She made it feel so real that I just found myself wanting more to the point that I lost a lot of hours of sleep.
So this book is a combo of 'Love's Suicide' (Katy's POV) and 'Love Survives' (Brooks POV)
The first part of the book will take you the journey of where it all started for Katy and the Twins (Brooks and his twin brother, Branch)
Katy loses her parents in a tragic event that no one will ever forget, and that's where she will come to live with the Valentine's. Through out the years Katy comes to fall in love with the twins in a different kind of way and it becomes hard for her to decides who to choose. After a lot of lies and deceits her choice becomes easy, but is it the right one? A night before her wedding, true feelings cannot be hidden anymore and one decision changes the course of Katy's life. She feels ashamed and with that, she decided she needs to flee and start a new life to find herself again.
The second part of the book, you will read it from Brooks POV and all the feelings he felt, the hurt, and how difficult it was for him to be around Katy and his twin brother. Brooks unconditional love towards Katy was so pure and beautiful that he made a choice that he found would benefit all of them, especially him. It broke my heart to pieces when he became so selfless and put her before himself. You will see all his struggles and how difficult it was for him to be away from his one true love. Lets just say, this man defines the word PURE LOVE.
This story will completely captivate you and you'll keep wanting more. I definitely recommend it. If I could give it a 10 star review, I would. Five stars just doesn't seem enough for me. Now can someone please point to the right direction and help me find my Brooks? Lol
