Leesmith tackles the subject of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with reverence and respect in 'Love's Miracle'. It makes for a compelling and emotional read that will keep your stomach in knots and your heart palpitating right to the very end.

The author visits the horror of war and the struggle to find peace in the aftermath. Impeccably paced, Leesmith reveals Zane's past in snippets of flashbacks that directly relate to what he is experiencing in the present. A clever technique that kept me voraciously reading so that I could put all the pieces of this complex hero together. Zane is every inch the taciturn, stalwart warrior but the author affords us glimpses of his humanity as well. He is a paradox that Margo is determined to solve.

And Margo isn't without her own issues which drive her professionally and personally. What starts out as a need to rescue turns into something much deeper and things get a whole lot more complicated as a result. Leesmith writes their romance with simmering passion and stark emotion.

A moving tribute to the heroes of a war everyone wants to forget. Leesmith reminds us that their sacrifice was heartbreakingly real and they deserve our utmost respect.

It's not often that I come across books quite like this one. Sure, it's a romance and sure by the end of the story you're left with that warm, fuzzy feeling but what happens in the pages in between is both heart-breaking and thought provoking. While this story is set in the 80s, it also has themes that are very relevant to today, especially with the war in the Middle East.

The hero, Zane, is deeply flawed and his experiences as a chopper pilot during the Vietnam War only add to his complexity as a character. Our heroine, Margo, is a psychologist who's trying to help those veterans suffering from PTSD, has deep-seeded issues of her own going back to her childhood with a father who suffered from and ultimately died because of the same disorder she's now trying to treat. She can't help but see the man behind the pain and comes to care for him much to the chagrin of colleagues and family.

Their story isn't a fluffy, light-hearted romance but as you can imagine one filled with sadness, anger, and intense emotional battles. I really loved that Sandra didn't gloss over the gritty. The pain being felt by the characters fairly oozed off of the page. That said, it is a romance so the sparks and the warm fuzzies are definitely present so if you're a romance fan you won't be disappointed. This is the first book I've read by Sandra and it definitely won't be the last.

BRAVO!!! A standing ovation for Sandra Leesmith, who has just released one of the best books I've read in the ABA, and in the CBA for that matter! From gut-wrenching to heart-soaring, Ms. Leesmith's Love's Miracle will not only steal your heart and your sleep, but your thoughts for literally weeks after. With tense psychological drama and an edgy attraction that ripens into an unexpected love, Love's Miracle is a provocative and haunting tale of two people caught in the crosshairs of their painful pasts, where a love laced with faith is the salve that heals both heart and soul. Note: This is a faith-based love story, but due to war scenes and realistic story-telling, some violence and attraction is edgier than one would find in a typical inspirational novel.

Being part of a military family, I was intrigued by the back cover blurb. The author certainly delivered on the promises implied on the book covers. I started reading and couldn't put it down because I didn't want to delay reading the happily ever after.

I think Ms. Leesmith captured the angst of a Vet suffering from PSTD very well. I couldn't help but root for the hero to finally admit his need for help. His dark secret wasn't revealed until the "black moment" but it was hinted at throughout the story and made me feel very smart when I discovered I had guessed correctly.

Both hero and heroine captured my attention early on and made me care deeply about them. As I said, I couldn't put the book down. I enjoyed the book and it made me wonder if our current vets from the war on terrorism might not benefit a bit from reading this book.

I look forward to picking up other books by this author.

Sandra Lee Smith's Love's Miracles is wonderful, well-written book, chockfull of emotion, heartache and romantic tension that kept me turning pages and cheering on traumatized Vietnam Vet Zane and pyschologist Margo, who was trying to help him but had problems of her own. The story and setting rang true and didn't disappoint as Zane and Margo overcome the heartache of their pasts through the power of love. This story makes readers thank God for our troops, those serving then and now. Don't miss Love's Miracles!

Love's Miracles tackles a subject many have incorporated into plot lines, but personally, I've never read a book where the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder takes on a life of its own. The balancing act Margo and Zane fight to keep becomes more important and emotional as the cause of the PTSD rises to the surface. The romance elements and emotion conflicts fight each other throughout the book and make you think about all the veterans who may be suffering in silence. Ms. Leesmith did a wonderful job of bringing awareness to the surface. Thank you!
