When we left off at the end of the first part of their story, Kerris had married Cam, her longtime friend and was trying desperately to put Walsh, Cam's best friend and the man who she feared held her heart out of her mind. She struggled with remaining loyal to Cam, not in body as she had always remained physically faithful, but in her heart. The friction between them all had come to a head and Walsh had left, seemingly for good, to enable Kerris and Cam to get on with their life together and start the family they both longed to belong to.
What struck me most about this story was the growth and changes of the character's involved. Kerris has made decisions, ones she regrets but it is only in looking back that she can see her mistakes and figure out what she can do to repair them. Cam too must find his way in these difficult circumstances. He is bitter over what has transpired, and this bitterness has infected his marriage and his attitude towards all those around him. What happens in this book makes him take a good hard look at himself and see that he must change in order to survive. Walsh, ever in love with Kerris, has backed off to give her space. In doing so, he has given himself the chance to make amends with his father and discover a new facet of his parent's relationship.Read more ›
Loving You Always is the second book in Kennedy Ryan's Bennetts series, and is the continuing story of Kerris and Walsh. This book is not a standalone, and should only be read if you have read When You Are Mine. If you haven't read these books yet, I highly recommend them. They are written so well, and are impossible to put down. The characters are real, and I love that they are all flawed but beautiful. I have been waiting for this book ever since I finished the first one, and I was not disappointed at all. Kennedy Ryan delivered everything that I had hoped for, and I loved getting to know these characters even better.
Love You Always picks up where we left off in When You Are Mine, with Kerris pregnant and trying to make her relationship work with Cam. As they both struggle to put the past behind them and move forward, Walsh struggles to stay away from everything that he lost. He throws himself into business and continuing to repair the relationship with his father. Although Kerris appears to finally be getting everything that she ever dreamed of, the family she dreamed of having no longer seems like enough. The man of her dreams isn't hers, and her relationship with Cam continues to fall apart with each passing day. But when tragedy strikes Kerris, Cam and Walsh are all forced to face the feelings that they have all tried to avoid and must decide what they will do moving forward.
I really struggled to like Cam in this book. I didn't exactly love him in the first book, but I also felt badly for him. In this book though, I can honestly say that I didn't feel badly for him at all. He suffered so much over the course of his life, and the events of this book definitely didn't help.Read more ›
This is the emotional, heart wrenching, heartfelt conclusion to Walsh and Kerris' love story. It was perfect.
If you haven't read When You Are Mine you need to stop everything and read that first! As soon as I finished that book I zipped over to Amazon to grab this one so I could finish their story, I was so anxious to see how everything was resolved.
If I thought my heart was put through the ringer with When You Are Mine, it was nothing compared to this book.
When you have someone that loves so so much that he's willing to step away from you, even when he knows you love him just as much, I can't even imagine. Walsh was willing to do anything and everything to make sure Kerris was okay and happy, even if it meant losing her.
I loved everything about this book, I don't think there's one thing about this book I would change.
And that epilogue! How hopeful it is. I'm looking forward to Cam's book. As much as I didn't like him/was frustrated with him in this book I couldn't blame him completely, he wormed his way back into my heart a little.
