This one as well.
Josh and Cara have known each other most of their lives, having grown up together in their small Montana town.
Josh was the popular, confident one in high school (along with his twin brother). Cara was the awkward, shy one.
Now all grown up, Josh finally takes notice of the more confident adult Cara when she shows up on his family ranch to tutor his nephew. Sparks fly, instantly they both are very aware of each other. Cara tries, in vain to keep their encounters strictly professional, it doesn’t take long for that to fly out the window. These two are too hot to handle.
I loved these characters and this quaint small town. It was well written. Very sweet, no huge drama, or angst, no cheating.
It’s told in dual points of view. And has a happy ending.
Light, sweet & sexy romance with some humor and likable characters. Great start to the series and can't wait to read about the other couples.
"If I was in Montana right now, I’d hunt you down and shove my foot so far up your a$$ you’d have toes for teeth!”

Loving Cara was a pleasant surprise and a fun read. Despite the cliche romance cover (I hate book covers like these because I'm always embarrassed to admit to my other GR's friends who read literature that I read "trashy" novels), I highly recommend this book to romance readers!
What it felt very off to me were the hollow development and the insta-love between the characters. They hit it off and everything was rushed and smooth -in the wrong way. Neither foreplay, nor banter for a start.
The hero -Josh- was too good to be true and cheesy macho -most of the times. The heroine, on the other hand -Cara- was, unreasonably insecure.
Overall, if you are looking for a light and cheesy book, but, without some angst or well developed plot that's your book, otherwise it is a mediocre novel.
For all those reasons I found the the book quite overcharged.
This is a one-click author for me & I love rereading her books, especially the first book of any of her series. Cara and Josh are one of my favorite characters & I love revisiting Cunningham Falls!
Top international reviews
I read the first Chapter on Amazon as a preview and at the end I was already hooked - so I purchased so I could read the rest.
I was not disappointed at all, I think I got to the 3rd Chapter and already purchased the 2nd & 3rd book in this series.
The story is about 3 main characters Josh, Cara & Seth
This story is set on a Ranch on the outskirts of Cunningham Falls.
Seth is Josh's nephew and he gets dumped off by his mother to live with Josh & his grandparents - for good.
Seth's Dad - Zack (Josh's twin brother) is currently serving in the army - but unknowingly to Seth he is due to come home... not going to spoil.
Cara is a teacher in town and is asked to tutor Seth for the Summer - she went to school with both Josh & Zack
but secretly has had a crush on Josh since High School.
Cara hasn't seen Josh over the years & the butterflies start churning.... the sexual tension between Cara & Josh well
even I was getting flustered.
All of a sudden Cara's house is destroyed from a tree going through the roof from the worst storm the town as had -
with her still inside the house!
Josh offers his spare room at his house and from there there is so much sexual tension it's maddening -
"If he touches me one more time, I swear I'll combust"
Cara is feisty, but not overly. She was bullied in High School and doesn't think much of herself & cannot believe that Josh wants only her - a great character.
Josh was the complete alpha male with a heart of gold - his love for the Ranch & his nephew.
The way he wants Cara to believe that she is the one for him though she doesn't believe it herself - is truly romantic.
Yes I wanted to reach in and slap him round the head a few times, but I also wanted to do the same to Cara at certain points
As for Seth - another great character, his story line broke my heart, I wanted to desperately reach into the book and comfort him. His protectiveness over Cara is loving and sweet
The only negative I do have is the constant use of the pet names thrown in every other sentence from Josh - sweetness, babe etc it was over used slightly.
Overall this book will drag you in until your eyesight starts to go blurry in the early hours of the morning.
I have read a lot of her books and devoured each one. This book, the first in a new series, is no different!
It didn't take me long to attach myself to the story and engross myself completely into the lives and loves of Josh King and Cara Donovan.
They grew up together but didn't really stay in touch despite both living and working in the same, small area of Montana. Their paths cross soon into the story and we are thrown head first into their relationship and I gobbled up every page! The story flowed seamlessly and I enjoyed reading the book from dual perspectives. It's always good to get inside the head of the alpha male!!
Cara shows tough love and her inner strength is tested to the limits and Josh was there to be her knight in shining armour when she needed him the most. This catapulted them into their relationship and by the looks of things, it was a blessing in disguise. I loved their banter and the whole story was one big heart warming moment.
I read the book within a day and experienced many emotions. I felt sad for the back story to Josh's nephew, Seth who was an integral part to the reunion of Cara and Josh and continued to be a constant feature in the story. I adored how Cara dealt with Seth and his problems and cried alongside the whole King family when things came to a head.
The conclusion to the story brought everything together perfectly and I am still smiling thinking about it :)
Thank you Kristen for another sweet and loving story; perfect for an afternoon read when you don't want anything too dark or heavy!
On the positive, it was nice to see a complete family unit that was happy and supportive in general.
Cara was a well written female lead, she was feisty, but not overly and she was an all round great character. Josh was the complete alpha male with a heart of gold, which is always good in these books. Yes I wanted to reach in and slap him round the head a few times, but I also wanted to do the same to Cara at certain points. Seth was a great character, and his storyline broke my heart, I wanted to desperately reach into the book and reassure him.
I can't recommend this book more, and I can't wait for the next in the series, which there was a nice teaser at in the back of this book.
If you haven't read 'With Me In Seattle' I would suggest you download them now too, you won't be disappointed!
Some very steamy scenes as well. : )
Cara is asked to tutor Josh's nephew on his ranch over the summer. She's known Josh since she was an awkward, slightly overweight school girl. Josh has never taken note of the adult Cara before. This relationship develops naturally and there's is steam. Great read and I definitely want to read the rest of the series.
Story between cara and Josh is good, how they all ready New each other before and she walks onto his farm and that's it. Cara is some school teacher but a great person. Josh farm hand and trying to what's right for his family. So glad Misty got put in place always a bitch in these book you got to love it.
Kristen clearly has a superb imagination. She is one of my favourite authors!
I loved the people in this story. I loved how Cara showed Seth why he should be better at school and have a better attitude.
I loved the relationship between Cara and Josh. I love jill and zack too. I have pre-ordered loving Lauren, I read the sample at the end of loving Cara and I can't wait.
Well done Kristen Proby!!! x
