I immediately connected with Kristen and her testimony of trials, tragedies, revelations, tests, and life story. How she was able to see the wisdom and teachings God was showing her, built from the deep emotional pains and sins of her life. I too, distanced myself from God. Struggling half my life to come to him, as she did, through all the painful situations that I was involved in growing up thru decades of adulthood before surrendering finally to God's will. I can relate to Kirsten's life of allowing people and circumstances to dictate my emotions, choices, and attitudes to the point of wanting to the give up on life. Almost destroying ourselves because of sins, darkness, and mindset that comes from within us and hurts those we love as well as ourselves.
Kirsten's teaching shows us principles, scriptures, techniques, and wisdom how to over come our struggles and miseries. How to apply biblical truths to our circumstances and relationship challenges. I know that everyone can find significance in the chapters to help them with whatever pain they are going thru. Also, to uncover ideas and encouraging new perspectives that can transform your relationship with our Lord as well as other personal relationship struggles you may have.
She demonstrates and teaches how no matter what life brings us; good, bad, or otherwise, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is always with us!I bought several copies for friends and know this is a great resource and teaching for anyone (Men or Women, Young or Old) who want to build better relationships....starting with God!
Part of what sets Kirsten's writing apart is her gift for combining her own personal experiences, the testimony of people she's met along her life's journey and practical steps to help you transform your thinking in order to allow God to move in your relationships. What I love most about the book is her transparency about her own personal struggles and how through careful study of the Scriptures and diligent obedience to His Word, her own family was saved from the brink of the devastating effects of divorce. Instead of relying on the world's wisdom and staying on the never ending cycle of frustration and brokenness, Kirsten encourages you to find hope by allowing God's transforming truth to change the way you think and respond in difficult relationships.
Each chapter concludes with a powerful prayer, scriptural references, and practical suggestions for putting truth into action.
Tired of struggling in your relationships with difficult people? This book will be a great source of encouragement to you and teach you how to apply God's truth to truly transform your way of thinking and acting towards others, thus inviting God to work miraculously in a way that He alone can do.
After searching for years for the answers on how to forgive those who hurt me, to repair my broken relationships, to overcome self-hatred, and to stop doubting the One who could set me free, Kirsten's book opened the eyes of my heart.
Loving the Unlovable is so well written with the focus on Gods word, the truth, which holds the answer to all of our struggles and heartaches.
This book teaches you how to experience God's power to make the necessary changes. Included are powerful prayer outlines and personal questions to guide you along in your own healing process.
Kirsten writes with amazing courage and honesty about her own experiences and those of others that have endured hardships. It made me laugh at moments as I related. At other times, I found myself emotional, all too familiar with those times of hardship and long suffering. The book reveals that we're not alone in our struggle and that there is hope of a better life.
Most importantly, this book reminded me to first look at myself and where I fall short so that I can love others with true love and respect!
Loving the Unlovable equips you through prayer to let go of the past and hang on to God as it stirs up in you the passion to want to surrender to the only One who can truly heal your life, your relationships, and give you the strength to walk in the freedom your heart longs for.
I would and have recommended this book to all who want to be transformed by the Truth!
Furthermore, when I faced frustration with my husband's negative comment about spending money I was able to realize that he was stressed about the upcoming finances that we were facing with college tuition. Instead of becoming defensive I reacted with compassion and understanding. I'm in awe at how God is using these truths shared by Kirsten to transform my thinking.
In fact, I gained insight on how to speak truth in love to my mother and put up some healthy boundaries in that relationship. Loving the Unlovable showed me the importance of forgiveness and how to do that. I need to heal so that I can change the cycle of abuse to be a godly example to my family. I plan to do the twelve week Bible study in the back of the book with a group of women and I can't wait to see what God does in all of our lives.
