A Low Blue Flame is the Backdraft's story of discovery. He has finally realized that Torrid is not for him. Thank goodness for that!!!!
He comes to Lil's rescue in the 10-13. She is being dumped in a bar!!!! In a bar, who does that? Thankfully Backdraft comes to the rescue but then he walks away!!!! He just drops her off and OMG!!!!! Is that it??? She seems so perfect and he just rides away.
When it is the one you can't just ride away. When it is your other half something will happen. When two make Us. Always. a journey will be so much more than just a ride, just a rescue, just a passing.
Nothing can destroy an Us. Always. It won't be easy. It won't be quick. It won't be without challenges and lots of them. It will be always.
Get to know Lil along with Backdraft. Her character is so much more than just a woman. She is someone that you want to know. She is someone that you want to be friends with, have a drink with, hold her hand as she goes through her struggles.
I eagerly awaited Backdrafts book and it did not disappoint at all. The build up to the relationship was perfect and I think fit the title well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story, in fact it is my favorite so far in series. I will admit up front that it does touch on quite a few items I like or that are familiar to me, which helped pull me in to the story. Fireman? Check. Writer? Check. Good guy MC club? Hero and damsel in distress? Philly specialty? I had to smile.
She is descriptive without it being too much for the story, and it was easy for me to read every word rather than skip over parts, which I sometimes do, even with classic books. Her writing fits well with the story she is telling and I thought she did good at having a build-up to the relationship and then intermixing the action as well as when the characters felt deeper feelings. It wasn’t just a story where one bounced right into the conflict or an instant love. It didn’t need to. The balance worked and felt realistic. As did her details of the careers for both characters and her details into timely items such as the everyday technology she describes. I liked that in this one.
All in all, I got to have a wonderful escape from everyday life with this story. Exactly what I wanted with it and more. Thanks AJ for sharing this creation!
