The pouch is also small and the flap sticks up on the end. The Velcro is too far from the bottom to hold the end of the flap down.
Addendum 8/1/16: I upgraded the wrist strap on my Fuji and added a very lightweight neck strap. Now the camera will not fit in the bag with the straps attached. This bag is small.
The Lowepro Ridge 30 matches beautifully with my Canon SX230 with Clearviewer viewfinder attachment. The camera and attachment measure approximately 4" x 3" x 1-1/2".
(On the other hand, my Panasonic HDC TM55K that measures 4.4" x 2.6" x 2" just didn't fit properly. Not only would it not zip up, but it's relatively square 2.6" x 2" cross-section made the Lowepro Ridge 30 bulge out unaesthetically. I'd guess that something about 4-1/4" x 3" x 1-1/2" would be the maximum sized object that would fit in this particular case.)
I carry a couple of spare batteries in the accessories pocket under the flap and a spare SD card in the flap pocket.
I specifically purchased the case in the color red to match the color of my camera. Not an exact match, but close enough. Love the color, wish my camera came in this shade.
Material quality and workmanship is excellent, as are all Lowepro products.
The Lowepro Ridge 30 provides just the right combination of size, convenience, protection, quality, and aesthetics to meet my needs. 5 stars. Highly recommended.
As for whether there's room for a spare battery (or memory card) - no problem. There are three pockets total: One small zipper pocket ON the closure flap (the smallest), one under the velcro-secured flap, and the zipper pocket in back (for the camera). Both the outer pocket and inner pocket have adequate room for the battery (the inner one could probably hold two). If you're looking to carry cables also, you'll have to get something bigger. You could put the USB cable in the inner pocket, and the battery in the outer - there's certainly enough room, but my guess is it would make the overall pouch a bit bulky. Personally, I'd rather not; I prefer the slimmer look. If you're going on vacation or a long trip, get a bigger bag so you can take all the goodies with you. But for day trips, this is perfect.
