Yes, the zippers aren't very smooth and the rain cover is hard to retrieve. I'm also not sure what some of the exterior trappings are good for. And a hundred bucks for a specialty bag seems a lot. But it makes an expensive lens investment more usable.
Edit #1: I tried wiping some Teflon bike lube on the zipper, but it didn't help any.
Edit #2: I applied Zipper-Ease, which smoothed the zipper some.
Some other review said it was too big for his camera, well, he should have done his research. Measure the camera and read the specification, he would have found out before buying it.
Some other reviews complained about the zipper, I can;t confirm this. Zipper works just fine. Then some other review was complaining about no handle on top. The handle is on the body-facing side which makes sense. If the handle would be on top and the top is not close the camera may fall out. The way the handle is, is much safer. The rain protecting cover needs to get used to how to slip it over, done it once now I know. It is not straight forward. But I wouldn't use it anyway and this is not significant enough to change rating. All together the bag has many little pockets you can use.
Another review was complaining about that you cannot attach another LowePro lensebag. Fact is you can attach another lense bag on the left side of this bag.
I also like that you can adjust the inner bottom height for the lens length you keep attached to the camera.
All together it is a great bag and meets exactly my needs.
Normally, I roll with the Lowepro 450 AW, a very large bag with lots of room for all my gear, including my tripod. It’s a great bag, but I don’t always need my whole kit. So I needed a new solution that was able to hold a minimal amount of gear, while still giving me access to the accessories I might need. Something I could use for my niece’s sporting events, or for when I am at the zoo, or even for general street photography, where I don’t need all my lenses, just the one or two I am likely to use. That is where the Toploader 75 excels. It's a niche item, but one I am glad I have.
This bag does everything it claims to do, without any drawback that I can find. So, 5 stars.
Finding a toploader that will take any camera with the 150-600 has been a challenge, and one which I, and many other users, have yet to win. My ideal setup is a sling toploader for this combo, and there isn't a single bag like this in the market for this lens. Both the Tamron and Sigma long lenses have become quite popular with birders and wildlife photographers, but still bag manufacturers haven't come out with a day bag for them. I refuse to carry a backpack or any other kind of bag that will make me lose time when a quick shot is required. That's the beauty of toploaders (and most slings). Bag manufacturers, wake up!
