This wacky, quacky memory and matching game combines developmental skills for young children with the fun of a 'My First Game.' Switch on the circular pond, and the ducks start swimming - the bottom side of each duck has a colored shape. Players take turns picking up a duck and looking at the color and shape; if it matches their colored shape, they get to keep the duck. If it doesn't match, they put it back. The first player with 3 ducks that match their shape wins.

|---|---|---|---|
Easy set up for repeat playPlace all 12 ducks on the game unit's pond so they face in a clockwise direction. Each player chooses a different colorful shape to collect: square, circle, triangle or star. Then press the large button in the center, and the ducks will start swimming. |
Develops memory & matching skillsOn each turn, a player picks up one duck and looks at the colorful shape on the bottom of that duck to see if it matches the colorful shape they chose to collect. If not, the player shows the shape to the other players and puts the duck back on the pond. |
Promotes shape & color recognitionIf the colorful shape on the bottom of the duck matches the shape the player chose to collect, then the player gets to keep the duck. Then play passes to the left to see if the next player can find a match. |
Makes learning fun!The first player to find all 3 ducks that match the colorful shape they chose is the winner, making that player the lucky duck. |

Product description
This wacky, quacky matching game combines developmental skills for young children with the fun of a "My First Game." Lucky Ducks offers all the benefits of memory and matching games in a format that's easier for little fingers than cards. As a bonus, it helps kids with shape recognition and colors. Switch on the circular pond, and the ducks start swimming - the bottom side of each duck has a colored shape. Players take turns picking up a duck and looking at the color and shape; if it matches their color and shape, they get to keep the duck. If it doesn't match, they put it back. The ducks continue to swim, so it's more challenging than a traditional memory game but easy enough for even the youngest duck lovers to play. This extra challenge makes the game more fun for parents and kids to play together with plenty of opportunities for fun and learning. For 2-4 players, ages 3 and up. Includes motorized "pond," 12 ducks and complete instructions. Requires 2 AA batteries (not included).

I ended up giving it away to Goodwill to save my sanity. Then maybe a year later she realized it was missing. She started asking endlessly about it. I ended up giving in and got it for her birthday. But I am a sucker for that kid... Ugh. So now we own it again.
It's a fine game. Good quality. Probably fun for the kids. A terror for me, but whatever I guess.

and NO ON OFF SWITCH. I am a therapist .who does homebased services do you know how annoying it is to hear the quack sound while you are driving . Or having to remember to take a screw driver and extra batteries because of NO ..ON OFF SWITCH!!
Obnoxious quaking noise when motor spins the "pond" around.
Not safe for kids who still put stuff in their mouths (under three); the ducks can fit inside a toilet paper tube. Must be at least 3 years old to grasp the concept of the game (to obtain three matching ducks).
No longer a paperboard "lilly pad" for the players to put their ducks on, like the versions they had 20 years ago.
One of my ducks came with the bill upside down (no way for me to fix).
The ducks were ill-designed; they don't have a large base, so they can fall over easily.

That being said, from a 3 year old's perspective, its a great game with good replay value. My son loves this game.
1) You absolutely CAN TURN THIS GAME OFF. The big orange button in the middle stops the sound and pond from rotating.
2) There are NO EXTRA STICKERS INCLUDED in case you make a mistake. The easiest way to avoid accidentally sticking the same shape on the board twice is to PUT STICKERS ON THE GAME BOARD FIRST. Also, the way this game is packaged makes it easier for you to avoid mistakes. When you open the box there is 1 game board and 4 packages (each containing 3 ducks) So put the stickers on the game board first then PUT STICKERS ON THE FIRST PACK OF DUCKS BEFORE OPENING THE NEXT PACK.
3) There is NO VOLUME CONTROL and NO WAY TO SHUT OFF JUST THE SOUND. It's all or nothing with this product.
4) The ducks DO NOT make a QUACK SOUND, ONLY SQUEAKING. Unfortunately, this is the reason I'm returning this game. The squeaking noise is AWFUL and I'm a stay-at-home Mom that can handle a LOT of annoying sounds and toys but this one takes the cake. I LOVE MY SON MORE THAN ANYTHING BUT DEAR GOD THE SQUEAKING HAS TO END!
This is an awesome toy for the value. It helps with fine motor skills, color and shape recognition, teaches kids to take turns. All these things I love but I can't get over the fact that the DUCKS DON'T QUACK. When you're teaching a child the different sounds animals make it needs to be correct. Unfortunately, ducks don't squeak and the AMOUNT OF SQUEAKING in this game is absurd. So if you enjoy squeaking EVERY 2 SECONDS then this game is for you!
