About the Author
Kristen Brockmeyer is a romance writer. A member of the RWA and the MMRWA, she's currently up to her eyeballs in an awesome contemporary romance manuscript. She's also a wife, a mom, an admin at an award-winning digital agency and a chicken-wrangling, weed-pulling, mosquito-slapping farming newbie. She enjoys reading romances, buying useless things at thrift stores, baking cupcakes semi-professionally, and hyphenating phrases, sometimes unnecessarily. She has three kids, one husband, two dogs and a partridge in a pear tree. (Okay, there really is a pear tree out back, but the bird in it is probably just a chicken.)

It was a fun read but I must say that the pacing of the story was a bit strange. Scenes that were important to the story were cut very short and scenes that had absolutely nothing to do with anything were painted in way too much detail. The ending, in particular, should have been much much tighter.
The storyline wasn't very credible (and one could question why the author wanted to include serious topics like sexual trafficking in what was basically a romantic comedy) but, as I said, it was a fun read and I was entertained. I give my four stars for that.
Lucky found herself in many unlucky situations and was usually able see herself through them with her clever wit. A stroke of bad luck allowed her reconnect with someone from her past, which brought suspense and sparkle to her life! After getting to know Lucky and the people she was connected to in her life, I was not ready to say goodbye to them after I finished the book. I went back and read my favorite parts and played out the plot in my mind for a week or so! This romantic suspense with witty humor and a little history has left me ready for more from this new author!
Lucky for you, I left the exciting details of this book for you to discover with Lucky MacFarlane!
Looking forward to reading more by this author. Maybe there will be a sequel?
