Ivy's life has just imploded. At thirty six she finds herself a single mom and her previous stable home life in shambles. She is trying to pick up the pieces and one of her new daring moves to get her out of her rut is to get a tattoo.

Enter Lukas Valentine...her new tattoo artist. He's twenty-four years old, but wise beyond his years. He looks like a pierced and tatted rock God, but has a caring, sensitive heart. He truly believes in love and happy ever afters.

They have an immediate spark and connection, but Ivy is unsure and wary. But Lukas is over eager enough for both of them. He is strong, romantic, sexy, intuitive, and mature. He makes her want things she shouldn't. She feels plain and boring, but he makes her feel alive and more vibrant. But she has baggage, fears, and insecurities. And everything about Lukas seems to scare her more because he is young, talented, has rock star looks, and could have any young woman he wants. It is hard for her to believe and trust.

Lukas just has a need to feel truly wanted, loved and trusted. He is protective and wants to take care of her since others don't. He believes in soul mates and fairy tales. Ivy used to, but is now more jaded and untrusting. And not everyone is supportive of their relationship. There are plenty of complications, drama, and issues to wade through.

Is love enough to survive the challenges, insecurities, and public perception?

This was a sweet, passionate, and heartwarming read. I was not sure how I would like the older woman/younger man story line but I really liked both of these characters and loved them together. I really adored Lukas' personality. He was such a good guy who knew what he wanted and was not afraid to go after it .

OMG Carian Cole just keeps getting better and better with her storytelling...except this time, she really hit very close to home and reading was slightly painful at times but a real joy nonetheless.
Ivy is a 36 year old mother of two who is blindsided when her husband of 18 years leaves her for a much younger woman. In an effort to re-invent herself at the advice of her BFF, she goes to get a tattoo and meets the adorable, sexy, charming, 24 year old Lukas.
A young man who has seen his fair share of tragedy and has suffered more in his 24 years than most have in a lifetime, Lukas is the perfect "old soul" to help Ivy get over her broken heart and learn to appreciate what a vibrant and beautiful woman she is (both on the inside as well as the exterior).
I was absolutely swooning at the first kiss and completely soaked by the time these two finally got together for the first time.
Every woman who has been rejected or been made to feel less than she deserves will appreciate this story of finding love after divorce and losing your heart to a man who might not seem to be anyone worth trusting it to, but who will prove you wrong.
As with her previous books in this series, the men are strong, pushy when necessary but inside they are softies and love their women fiercely. Lukas was a contradiction of a man...he could rock out with the best of the metalheads (covered in tattoos, piercings and long hair) while playing the strings of a violin like a cherished lover and caring for his woman with a gentle loving touch.
One of my favorites by this author and even though there were a few scenes that really upset was an enjoyable read that left me satisfied and really wishing I had a man like Lukas when I was going throught my divorce.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

My Rating: 4 Coffee Cups!!

I'm going to kick this one off with a moneymaking idea for Carian Cole. Ready? Mass produce Lukas clones. No, but seriously. The entire time I was reading this book the one phrase that kept repeatedly running through my mind was "I want one". I wanted my very own Lukas. Hell, I still want my very own Lukas. And I can almost guarantee (I say almost because sometimes even I am wrong) that by the time you are done reading this you will want one too.

Ivy has just gone through an ugly separation. After 18 years of marriage and two children she discovers that her scumbag husband has been cheating on her for the past year. Completely blindsided, she is heartbroken, confused and angry. But in an effort to get control over her life once again she does what a lot of women do after a break up- the things she wanted to do that her husband frowned upon. For example: dying her hair fire engine red. Or (after being armed with a gift certificate from her best friend) getting a tattoo.

Lukas is a young 24 year old tattoo artist/classical musician. He is kindhearted and definitely more than meets the eye. After just recently meeting his biological family he has a sense of what he wants in his life. He wants a family of his own. He wants stability. He wants love. He's been through a lot in his young life and he's had to grow up quickly. But when he finds what he wants he goes after it wholeheartedly. And what he finds is Ivy.

That first appointment they both realize pretty quickly their attraction. And although it is mutual, Lukas is the only one who is willing to admit it out loud. Now, don't get me wrong, I completely understand Ivy's position. She's a 36 year old newly single mother of an 18 year old girl and 8 year old boy.
