I purchased this mattress back in 2014 for my infant son. I was happy with it then. Its light weight for easy removal, waterproof, and easy to clean. Fast forward, my son is now 2.5 years old, and the mattress is shot. Completely sunk in the center, no matter which side I flip it to. Its not like my son jumps on the bed or anything that would damage the mattress or cause this to happen. Very disappointing that now I have to buy another one. I was even more annoyed when I went back to find this order and write a review, and saw that I actually spent $170 on this thing, only to have to give it to the dog two years later. Don't waste your money.
Mattress has worn out after two years, and Customer Service ignores e-mails. The mattress has developed a deep indentation and no longer provides support. I've attempted to contact them via e-mail, including my receipt and they have completed ignored me.
First of all, I love that this crib mattress is certified green and made without arsenic and all the other nasty stuff they use in baby's crib mattresses. It was by far the most affordable crib mattress that received this label, and for that reason I would buy again. It seems to be of decent quality and I like that its waterproof. The reason I only gave three stars is that we've only been using it for a few months, and it's become super lumpy. After only a few weeks of use, there is an indent where my daughter sleeps. It feels very firm otherwise which is fine. For the price it is with it if you are looking for a green mattress, just be aware of this fact.
I bought this mattress from a big box baby retailer back in Jan. of 2014. I was in the market for a mattress with no harmful chemicals and this was a great cost efficient option. I assume who ever may be reading this is aware that the prices of these kind of mattresses can reach 400+, so I was really pleased to find this one. I was very happy with this mattress for the first couple of months, it's soft but firm enough for an infant, green certified, affordable and it only weighs 7 pounds! Light weight makes changing the sheets a breeze, for little ol' me standing 5 foot tall, that was important. However, I have to agree with another reviewer that over a short time it became very lumpy and there was an indent of where the baby had been sleeping. After 9 months, it feels very thin in some places and we will have to shop for a new mattress. I am disappointed and expected better. Even though the price is lower than other comparable mattresses, I still think the mattress should have held up and ours definitely wouldn't make it through the toddler stage. It has all the right features that any mom would want for her baby but it just didn't live up to what I expected.
I have this mattress for both of my kids, almost 3 and almost 1 and have not had any denting that other reviewers mentioned. I love how lightweight it is, it is a game changer when you are changing sheets in the middle of the night, have a crying baby, or just don't want to hoist a 30+lb mattress around to put on a fitted sheet. It is firm, which is how a baby mattress should be. While it is totally waterproof we do use an organic waterproof, cushioned fitted sheet underneath the regular fitted sheet to provide an additional layer between the fitted sheet and the 'plastic' feel. This really helps. Also, no chemicals, no smells nothing.
After researching crib mattresses and learning about the toxins they contain and off-gassing, I decided to buy new mattresses for my boys. I bought the Naturpedic lightweight mattress for my 7 month old and love it. It is a high quality mattress and seems very comfortable. My only complaint is that it doesn't "fill out" my son's crib, and it has that organic cotton smell--it seems to be fading with time. Since my 2 year old won't be in his toddler bed much longer, I decided to go with the Lullaby Earth mattress because it is cheaper and still a safe choice. I received it yesterday and was a little disappointed after having a Naturepedic mattress. The Lullaby Earth mattress looks similar to my Naturepedic mattress in the workmanship and design. Instead of being a natural color, it is white. And of course it is not made with organic cotton. The cover also seems a bit thin. So basically I would say that if you take away the organic cotton from the Naturepedic lightweight mattress, you pretty much end up with the Lullaby Earth mattress. Nothing special, very simple, seems a little overpriced. It is firm without being hard--I think that the one sided mattress is fine for infant or toddler. The great thing about it is that it doesn't smell, and it is a safer alternative to other mattresses. I would recommend it, but if you can afford it, I would go with the Naturepedic. It just seems like better quality.
Great product. Super light weight, which makes it easy to change the crib mattress. No funky smells, which you can sometimes get with conventional mattresses. The waterproof cover is easily punctured, so beware of that. Our cat clawed it and created puncture marks. I just turned the mattress to the opposite side, and we also have a waterproof mattress pad on it as well.
